Re: senior league
BWH you was the one who brought up about the protest. No one was bashing Ironton for picking up players from other schools. There concern was playing the other players in front of your own players. But if the players and the PARENTS are O.K with that, Then Ironton has nothing to worry about.

I'm not mad about it at all, just pointing out it is still being discussed. Actually, I thought the protest was pretty funny. It helped Ironton turn a 3-0 game into a blowout.

I'm glad to see there is so much concern for our players. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: senior league
I too have read the entire thread. I do not feel that Ironton was being bashed. However, if kids from other schools are being played before Ironton kids, I feel thats a shame. To me thats just telling Ironton kids we can't win w/you.
Re: senior league
The kids from other schools that go to ironton to play go there because they feel that Ironton is the best place for them and the best chance to go far in the tourny. If they play above the Ironton kids, well those kids need to step it up. They play before the others simply because they are better baseball players. If you dont like it, get over it.

Re: senior league
I thought that the boys were appointed to a team. I did not know they picked for themselves.
Re: senior league
I had heard the game in question was against South Point (not the Green game) where the player got credit for playing while he was on vacation in the mountains on the same day. Not sure if its true, just what i heard. Either way, it seems to be a done deal and a dead issue so let's just move on.
Re: senior league
u know u think rock hill is crying but i heard the rock hill coaches didnt say a word about something they knew not to cause trouble and i know this to be true that irontons paper states that they played 11 games by the 15th and he played 60% and at the game they only had 11 games all year now check my adding but the 15th and end of season end of june mmm ironton didnt play anymore games then what about the forfiet to sp now somebody isnt telling the truth and if so please explain this to us all. and only thing 2 years ago rock hill got 4th in the state with only rock hill players and everyone played at least 2 innings and a bat can anyone say this
Re: senior league
simmoty as for the schedule at south webster rock hill went undeafeated knocking off the two favorites wheelersburgh and valley to get there and they won 4 games at state also but we didnt see ironton that year mustv done went home uh thats right no one to join with that year other teams was in there uh and far as bws we were there too and that was no kid that did that or parent from rock hill and i know that for a fact because i heard it being sad so get your facts straight
Re: senior league
Are you sure Ironton played 11 games? You know the Tribune has been known to make mistakes. If so, a player would have had to play 7 games to make themselves eligible for play. I wonder what the affidavit says about scheduled games. I was under the impression he played 5 games, plus the SP forfeit to make 6 (out of 10). In which case he is eligible if he was dressed and present at the SP forfeit.

Re: senior league
ok was going to stay out of it but since you brought green into it. we never said howie didn't play at green he was there and yes he did hit two homeruns but we played them at Ironton and he was not on the roster. where by the way one of our kids hit a homerun and was not allowed to keep the ball. ABSOULUTELY ridiculous because we gave Howie both of his. next time remind us how expensive a ball is and we'll bring extra.

Re: senior league
It isn't possible that anyone other that an Ironton player or parent can truly know how many games a player actually played. Everyone else is taking somebody's word for it and that info just isn't correct. The fact is, each player on that roster was determined to be eligible and any protests regarding player eligibility have been denied.
Catinthefurnace, an adult from Green reported that a certain Ironton player "never played against us". That was part of the protest but that information was incorrect.

they practice almost every night at 6 pm at the coal grove high school field.
Looks like the Ironton squad will play Hardscrabble ( district 8 champs) in the first round. on sat the 25 at 130 pm
