Week 7: Warren (3-3) at Logan (1-5) SEOAL

Post by loganlocos »

Warren travels to Logan on Friday night for a key SEOAL match-up for both teams who are 1-1 in SEOAL play. Logan picked up their first win of the season last Friday topping Gallipolis 14-3 at Memorial Field while the Warriors fell to 3-3 after a tough loss to Parkersburg South.

Both teams have lost to Jackson for their only SEOAL losses.

Logan will have to pressure Warren's QB.
Warren will have to stop the run.

If Logan is fired up like last Fri, I think they will win.

I'm not ready to get cocky - but Logan certainly made strides last week. This will be a big week for the ends, linebackers, and of course the secondary.

Linebackers need to play smart and make good reads.

Ends need to make sure they keep containment, but as usual, will be asked to pressure the QB. I like the pair of sophomore ends and think they have both shown continual improvement. If they can continue to improve at getting off blocks, I think the purple can be successful.

Lindsey and Wotring have been solid in Logan's usual man coverage and Fridley has done a nice job as a centerfielder. I expect both Long and Nick Maniskas to get plenty of time as Logan will likely play their "nickel" (4-3 with 2 safeties) package.

Offense will have to take care of the football. McCarty is a VERY good tailback and if Long can get the football to Lindsey and Wotring on the outside, they have proven they can make plays.

Warren will score points. But containing their offense and putting points on the board will be very important.

Good Luck Chiefs... Over the hump with the first win should pull the team a little more together and hopefully cut down on the costly mistakes.

This will be Logan's second win, and maybe by 2 scores or more all depends on how many turnovers, penalties and bad snaps they have,if they don't have many of them they will win easy IMO

If the mistake bug's show up Logan will lose! We still only play avgrage aganist Gallia but we were able to cut down on the mistakes. Look for a close game with Logan barely winning!

What is the status of Warren's QB? He didn't play the second half of the South game and Warren's offense went completely stagnent when he left. If he doesn't play this game Warren will lose by a couple scores.

The weather should be ideal. All the weapons of both teams will be available. Now, I hope Logan uses their ground game to control the ball, limit mistakes and keep Warren off the field. Move the sticks, get scores and play defense and special teams. Hey, I'm channeling Tressel! :)

With Leffingwell playing and the game being played at Warren I think Warren will win. It will be a high scoring game with any turnover being huge in the outcome of the game.
Good luck to both teams! Keep it injury free.

Just a few thoughts, Logan needs three solid cover players in the secondary or Leffingwell will eat you alive. If Logan can limit the passing game of the Warriors then they will win, if not it'll be a long night. Warren will barely attempt to run even though the back is fairly productive when given the opertunity. Logan is easily the more balanced team and should have a good chance at another win.

chiefs need to stick with the run more. couple of 4th down pass plays at gallia that failed. would have picked up the 1st down on a few of those with the run. passing game looks untrustable. chiefs in a tight one i would say against the warriors this week. go chiefs!
