That may drop them to the #4 seed

Waverly loses in 5 to an excellent South Webster team for their first loss.

Goodness, Warren, Athens and Unioto fighting and giving on that 2 seed. Warren may have the SEOAL coaches to help as the others are alone in the sectional....but the perceived #5-#7 seeds may be looking for a matchup that doesn't suit Warren at #2.

Warren 3 spots higher than Athens?

OK

Waverly got no respect getting the #2

Marietta leaving the SEOAL earned them the #7 seed.

Warren with a cake walk to the district finals....district semi will not be very close

Typical southeast coaches. Marietta leaves and they vote against them. They beat gallia head to head. They play in a league where Warren, top seed, lost to the third place team in the ECOL.
If the athletes get treated the same way in district voting they should let them out and into the east district.
Shame on you coaches. Marietta should be a four or five seed. Doesn't matter girls just play. None of these teams will look like teams you played all year. Wavily couldn't beat new Philly or Dover either. You can do it.

Don't pick on Waverly....they lost a seed spot as well.

Athens got the #4 seed.....not a break for Gallia getting the 5.

14-1 Waverly's 1st round opponent Marietta is better than Warren's 2nd round district semi opponent.

All of this is very true. Wasn't expecting Warren to get the #1 seed but not complaining either.

Warren played the ECOL #3 team without their top 3 hitters. No excuse, just the facts. Marietta is a potentially dangerous #7 seed...they just didn't take care of business the way they should have. Won't be surprised to see them win.

I do understand some of your anger as the seeding in this meeting looks a little contrived----Jackson seeded ahead of Marietta is based solely on record and Marietta beat Gallia 25-16, 25-10, which is a pretty good beating. Perhaps the 8-11 record will be used to justify it, but there is no doubt in most people's minds that Marietta should have been at least the 5 seed.

Gallia did themselves no favors by playing Athens first though.

I bet Waverly's coaches left the seeding meeting wondering what train hit them-----getting the 2 seed with only 1 loss and then drawing Marietta in the first round.

Also, I can hear the argument that Warren played a tougher schedule than Waverly, therefore should be given the 1 seed. Then a total reverse way of thinking when it comes to seeding 5-7.............. It seems like the same line of thinking would have given Marietta the 5 seed!

Athens being 3 spots below Warren in the craziest IMO.

How did Westfal get the number one over Waverly?...Oh wait I've seen the politics in the girls b ball draw so I shouldn't be suprised it happens here too...But you would have thought Waverly would be an obvious number one.The only loss was to a real good SW team...

BP- Different sides. Westfall is in the North, Waverly in the South.

Westfall's losses are to Adena(2) and Huntington, both very good teams as well. They should win their district, IMO.

I understand Athens getting the 4 seed. Warren beat Athens early in the year and that helped.

I don't understand Warren seeded higher than Waverly. If the SEOAL was better this year---maybe. The SEOAL is not having the type of year that warrants that kind of respect, Warren is 16-4 and Waverly is 14-1. We played Waverly twice this year and they are very good.

Then seeding Gallia and Jackson higher than Marietta is some kind of cruel joke on Waverly. Waverly would beat Gallia or Jackson in 3. Marietta will give them all they want. If my daughter was a senior for Waverly, I would be an unhappy camper tonight.

Athens lost to Warren very early and no way should they be 3 spots behind them.

Marietta beat Gallia pretty handily and are 2 spots lower.

The #1 seed just played the #7 and it went 5 games.

The seeds of the other side of the bracket would all be 3-4 spots lower if they were in this sectional.

It would be interesting if they seeded these teams like football....or just had D4 coaches seed the D2 teams, D3 seed the D4 and D2 seed the D3....the buddy system would not be nearly as strong.

Ironman92: We agree on this!

Warren got away from Waverly, Marietta, Athens and Westfall. Their coach's drive home was probably a joyful one!

Waverly drew Marietta in the first round and have to beat Athens or Westfall to get out of the district. I am betting that their coach didn't stay long afterwards and had an angry ride home.

How do you vote Gallia and Jackson ahead of Marietta in that meeting with clear conscience? Marietta just took Warren to 5 games................. beat Gallia easily head to head............ Gallia and Jackson both lost to Meigs this season................I can't find a quality win on their schedule. Wait, I know how you do it, you go solely on record and Jackson and Gallia had better records than Marietta............... ok.......... so how did you vote Warren over Waverly if that is your fallback? very fishy

Jackson's top win IMO was @Logan

They beat Greenfield pretty easily at Jackson....which record wise is their top win.

And Warren beat Marietta without two starters one time and right after a tragedy for one of their players.

Gallia and Jackson ahead of Marietta is a joke.

Like I said girls, waverly is no new Philly or Dover. You can do this!!
