Re: Week 7: Wellston @ Alexander
I didn't read his comment as if he were meaning that one team was better than another based on points, the point I think he was trying to make is that in recent years it has taken fewer points to make the region 15 playoffs than it has taken to make the region 19 playoffs and as he has shown above recent history supports that. I agree with you that computer points don't matter when two teams face on the field (if it did there wouldn't be a reason to play the games) but that is the system our state chooses to employ and we have to make the best of it.

Re: Week 7: Wellston @ Alexander
Alex has made the playoffs the last 2 years and I think both years they were 8-2. Alex may be 8-2 again this year, but will more than likely be sitting at home. I think there will be 9-1 teams in this region at home and some 10-0 teams having to travel long distances to play a game.

Re: Week 7: Wellston @ Alexander
You can catch this game on the air tonight on Power 105 WXTQ (105.5).
Rob Schreier and Ben Strunk have the call from Albany as an offensive showcase is in store.
It's Wellston @ Alexander with pregame coverage coming you way at 7:15.
Also - tune into the Sports Fan presented by J&K Contracting to catch an interview with Alexander head coach Sean Arno in preparation for tonight's contest. You can hear that on our sister station, 970 (AM) WATH from 6:06-7. That interview should come just after the bottom of the hour

Re: Week 7: Wellston @ Alexander
I think you have to go with Alex. Maybe the haven't played anyone as of yet. But they are scoring pts and keeping teams out of there end zone. You know Arno will have the boys ready. Alex has been hearing for months now they haven't played anyone. If they beat Wellston down bad, they might finally get some respect. As I said before, Wellston hasn't proven that they can score pts against good teams. I don't think they do here either. Alex 35 Wellston 0. I might be wrong, maybe put the old 13s in the mouth, but
I just cant see Wellston holding Alex under 30.
Good luck to both teams, hope for an injury free game.

Re: Week 7: Wellston @ Alexander
I had a feeling on this one. Alex just hasn't played near the schedule that Wellston has and that's why I picked Wellston in the Pickems contest.
