As an unnamed deputy approached Steven Kirk, 33, Kirk somehow got into the deputy's car and attempted to run over him, according to Tom Genz, supervisory deputy for the U.S. Marshals Southern District of Ohio in Columbus.
The deputy then shot and killed Kirk, Genz said.

I hope they have car cam for that, because I want to know how this happened. I kind of have to wonder why his door wasn't locked. I believe it's wise to keep a key in the ignition and have a spare key on you so this type of thing doesn't happen.
Regardless, with details given, I applaud this deputy for sound thinking and glad to see another criminal off the streets.
I hope this deputy is justified in his shooting.
