The Tigers did great in cincy. They took that 7on7 by storm. Great job!!!
Re: 2009 SEOAL Previews: Marietta Tigers
Marietta looked good. Kids played aggressively and with enthusiasm. QBs are looking better and receivers are improving. The Tigers beat Lakota West, Fairborn, Triad, Cincinnati Country Day, before falling to Tecumseh in the championship game.
Overall good day for the Tigers, 7on7 again tonight at the Drumm at 5:30.

Re: 2009 SEOAL Previews: Marietta Tigers
This year should be interesting for the Tigers in replacing all their key players from last year, but this team is already showing sings of youth and promise with Baker, Mckitrick and Johnson all being sophmores and already having a large role in the team.

I was at work today, how did the Orange-White game go?
Any stand outs, long scoring plays, suprises?

Re: 2009 SEOAL Previews: Marietta Tigers
Marietta lost a lot of talent from last year.
Their record may no have shown it but they were good.
Like I have said before last years seniors could have been playing for the title.

Thanks noreply. But despite losing a lot of talent, this year they have an easier non-league schedule. This may help them to have a better record than previous years.

I'll be able to make the first hour or so of the scrimmage tomorrow. I hope the Tigers have a good showing.

Barry - From MariettaFootball.com
" Split Squad Orange and White Scrimmage...
The Tigers held their annual Orange and White intersquad scrimmage today with the white team coming out on top 7-0 in a game dominated by both defenses.
The defenses were the story of the day as they caused six turnovers (2 int's and 4 fumbles) with the attacking pressure of the new aggressive 3-5 defense.
The white team capitalized on an orange turnover inside their 40 yard line and Perry Wheeler broke two tackles and took into the end zone from the Orange 4 yard line."
It was a good showing. Some increased intensity, playing faster on defense, and good additions to the roster from last year that showed they can play.
Good news: the defense caused 6 turnovers
Bad news: the defense caused 6 turnovers
We will see when Bellaire comes to town tomorrow night.

schenk,
Do you know how good Bellaire is supposed to be this year? I know they have struggled the last couple years with 0-10 and 4-6 records, which is unusual for them. I guess you'll know more about them after tomorrow night though.
Good luck to the Tigers in their scrimmage!

Re: 2009 SEOAL Previews: Marietta Tigers
Didn't get to attend the scrimmage, but my sources tell me that Marietta looked good against an over-matched Bellaire team. I heard that Bellaire did not look good. Congrats to the Tigers on a solid first outing. Heard that the Tigers didn't look real big, but looked quick. The 3-5 defense will be interesting. Being a WVU grad, I'm a fan of all things Mountaineer. It'll be interesting to see how it works for the Tigers.

Tigers did look good against Bellaire, but a much more formatable opponent this Monday with Cambridge.
