I just use the Trib's website. We don't get the paper at home.
I'll bet your delivery guy would appreciate a bigger tip, though!

Man Oh Man....Can you smell it.....Blue Devil Football is in the air....I have talked to several people about this new coach for us and I have only heard good things. They say he is very tough. Reminds me of another coach we used to have but I won't mention any names. Any true follower of the Devils will figure it out. I have seen alot of people talk about the kids that left but you know that is their decision. If they want to quit on us do we really need that distraction? Just like in the army they will weed out the weak to get the best results in basic training. So i really don't see it as a bad thing... We will be who we will be this year. We have a new staff and a new system and things are going to be tough enough for our young men to learn that then to worry about who is quiting. I say good luck to The Big Blue....They play a MONSTER schedule this year and I am excited to see what happens. Go big Blue!!!!

Great post! LDF. I am very excited also, having not even seen any practices. I hope the Devils can surprise these "experts" on SEOPS and maybe win a few league games. Regardless, I am sure that the Devils will show up and play hard until the end. Good Luck to The Gallia Academy Blue Devils!

Just learned GAHS will host Meigs in a post-season Jamboree game on Friday, Aug. 21, beginning at 7 p. m., on Memorial Field.

Cost of the practice tilt will be $5 per person. Everybody pays because it is a benefit contest.

Everything will be live except punt returns.

How did Coach Eddy's 1st day go at Gallipolis?

Give him time and buy into his system, cause he will get results you are looking for within 3 years.

He is a hard nose type of coach, but knows what he is doing when it comes to football, especially on the defenses side of the ball.

I've know Coach Mike since he came to Parkersburg abd wish him all the luck in the world.

Hopefully sometime in the future the Devils and his former Big Reds could get together for a scrimmage.

well the boys wont get heat casualties with the rain in forecast all week. good luck young men do us proud.

wins and losses come but it's how you play the game.

'' make them know they were in a fight``

THATS HOW THE BIG BLUE ROLLS. WE DONT QUIT, WE HIT.

Jottings wrote:Portsmouth West for sure, but I saw on another thread Meigs has two scrimmages (one with Jackson) but not GAHS.

Bill Wamsley notified Meigs AD Carl Wolfe before school let out about a Jamboree game, but has never heard back from Meigs. Saw where Carl Wolfe is no longer AD at Meigs.

Don't know what the situation is at this time.

Your right about West ( at West ), next Friday and then Meigs at home .

Coach Eddy said the Blue Devils will have one pre-season scrimmage at West on Aug. 14, then the Jamboree at home with Meigs on Aug. 21. No third scrimmage this year.

This morning, GAHs had 39 boys working out in the upper three grades and 15 freshmen for a total of 54 candidates.

Blue Devils open season at home against non-league Athens on Aug. 28. After a trip to non-league Hillsboro on Sept. 4, GAHS will host Ironton in its 2009 SEOAL opener on Sept. 11, then host Logan on Sept. 18.

The Sept. 18 contest with defending league champion Logan will be GAHS Athletic Hall of Fame Night. On Saturday, Sept. 19, the 2009 HOF Class will be honored with a banquet in the new GAHS cafeteria at Centenary.

Gallipolis at Portsmouth West scrimmage changed to Saturday, Aug. 14. Don't have time yet. Maybe some West poster could give GAHS fans a way to get to the West stadium. It's been 22 years since a lot of fans have been there.

See on a P-West post the GAHS scrimmage is set for 10 a.m., om Aug. 15.

It will be West's only pre-season scrimmage.
