volsfan,
I must say that it makes me happy to see some of the old Trojan and East ender coming back out in you. I knew that the mention of that old coach from Oak Hill's name would get the red and blue blood flowing in you again. I recall a day when you helped that old coach and drug those 2 boys of yours around at the ball field in their Trojan T-shirts. I, like you, am excited at the possibility of Coach Tipton making a return. Look forward to seeing you at some Trojan football games this fall. Good luck to both of your boys as they continue their baseball careers at the next level.

Men of Troy,

My wife can tell you that the East Ender has never left me-lol!! My boys just laugh at my East End ways and stories-lol!! I tell people, my boys are from the Burg, I am a Trojan for Life. Even though our Friday nights have been with the Pirates for the past eight years or so, it will be nice to watch the Trojans again, but even nicer to see all of my old Trojan friends again. Stopped by the old coach's house last evening and I believe he is ready to get back on the field, hopefully that will happen soon. My two are excited about being together again, even though the youngest one is having a hard time not suiting up on Friday nights, we remind them how lucky they are to be at the next level. See ya in a few weeks at the new stadium.

volsfan,
I see where your oldest son is playing with the Chiilicothe Paints, does this mean he has given up eligibility to play @ Akron????

I've been asked that question about Brandon about a million times! The change just kind of happened with Paints, but from what I hear it's going pretty well. I need to get to Chilly to watch Brandon and the Paints soon.

They are treated like a minor league team, but without the pay. Their college coaches recommend the players for the team, and the Paints owner and coaches make the final decisions on the roster I believe. The playes are having a blast, signing autographs, averaging about 1,500-3,000 fans per night at games, getting everything paid for, it is a great college league (Prospect League) and has some of the top college players too, and looking to be one of the top in the country.

The closest Brandon has been to professional level so far is catching Bullpen last summer for the Akron Aeros (AAA Cleveland Indians) and watching the game. But he hopes to be there some day soon, with a college degree hopefully-lol!

Catch24, load the family up and get up to Chilli before the end of the season. Brandon would love to see you and the family. Try dime a dog night-lol! I know that little man of yours is prolly eating them by now!

He's not allowed to eat those things until after his career is over.

But yeah, I really need to get to a game, sounds like a great experience.

I have heard that it will not have field turf.

I heard that the field will have turf, but not the first year, so we will see in a few years. With or without turf, the facilities are great. It will have lights though, so late night practices with the new coach, won't be a problem, maybe some roasting of marshmallows as a team snack-lol!

ever seen Jackson's 300 down the line with a 20' wall in LF awesome field with the stuff that has been done to that field last year. hitting facility right behind it. Only thing is dugouts need to be redone. Maybe a good field to mimick.

Shouldn't they be working on maintaining the grass before winter? I have noticed a lot of weeds throughout the field and surrounding areas....... A double high fence has been erected to protect Findley St in foul territory down the left field line, however most foul balls hit well will find there way on the street.
