a c m: Logan is a member of the Southeast District.......they are ASSIGNED to the Central District for basketball only because they are no other D1 schools in the SE district. That doesn't take away their membership in the Southeast District.

The OHSAA lists Logan as a member of the Southeast District.

It is easier in D3 or D4 to get to or win State. If you are good you play people you play all year. In D2 the state usually sends teams from afar to the regional instead of a true Southeast rep making it.
Before all the arguing starts about the smaller schools think about this. Could Oak Hill have beaten Chilli the year they won?? Or even Zanesville that year because they made it to regionals and nearly beat Newark who went on to win it all.

Portsmouth's 1988 D2 state champions were all home grown.......the starting 5 honed their skills out in Bannon Park..........

David Barnes 6-5 SR.
Dominic McKinley 6-3 SR.
Bo Burns 6-3 SR.
Ricky White 5-10 SR.
Patrick Tubbs 5-11 SR.

If i'm not mistaken Waginger was the only player not from Webster. They had a darn good team without him but he made them a great team. Everyone talks about transfers until it benefits them. It happens and if done right is perfectly within the rules so will continue to happen. I am sure that Ironton as well as Jackson has had their fair share of transfers too.

When was the last time a team in OHIO won with homegrown players. It is actually probably LESS of a problem in the SE. That is the way high school sports are now a days. I don't think anyone should get upset about it. If a kid wants to play somewhere else it is his option(to an extent). I doubt we will see, with the exception of possibly D4 a team of all home grown players win a State title for quite some time, maybe ever.
