Week 9 (8-0) Lucasville Valley @ (7-1) Wheelersburg

So, like I said....apparently Burg doesnt rebuild, they RELOAD...so after the game, should Valley pull this unthinkable task...I dont wanna hear this were down stuff. Hope we can stay in the game...

good heavens. you must think everybody on here is a child. you think people can't see through the kind of ploy you are trying to build here?

makes for much better story telling years later when memories fade and you have your grandson sitting on your knee telling him of the indians exploits.... i can hear it now........

yes, son, i remember back in '11 when we pounded the mighty vaunted wheelersburg pirates right when they were invincible and in the height of their long and illustrious string of championships. although they were much bigger and older..... you see son, back in those days you could play til you were 23 and if i remember correctly every one of their players was at LEAST 23 and several had already been in the marines and come back home to finish school....... but i digress...anyway, we were just a bunch of rag tag youngins, mostly freshmen and sophomores, with absolutely no chance of winning and the whole county was betting against us but low and behold, miracle of miracles, those kids of ours came out there and scratched and clawed their way to victory over those mighty, vaunted wheelersburg pirates (most of which had been recruited from the catholic schools, mind you) but it is a day i remember as if it were yesterday and every bit of it happened just as i have told you.

yeah, some great story telling material there, yes sir.

let me tell you the honest truth...

if valley doesn't beat wheelersburg and beat them badly this year, you may as well hang it up and get a new coach (not that he is a bad one but he'd be perceived that way if, beyond anyone's wildest dream, he should lose... again) because......

this year.....

wheelersburg is way down and

valley is waaay up.

get used to it.


by the way, the last time valley beat burg, burg was 0-10 that year.... but i haven't heard anyone from valley mention that... (better story telling, you see.)

you fans should stop in and admire the gold football every day and if you win it for the next half dozen years you'll then be up on par with minford and win it for the next 27 years and you'll be up on par with burg.

Its funny reading all of the burgs fans posting on here.They are scared to death that Valley might beat them this year. I dont think they will know how to act when this happens it might just be the fall of the great "Wheelersburg" kingdom of football....!!!!!!!

now, what i want to know is this your idea of more technical football talk rather than trash talk (anything but xs and os to you)?

i mean "the line has to open some holes" (really?) and "they have to sustain some drives" (no foolin) and they have to consistently "get into 3rd and short situations", (oh, my. never thought of that one) etc.

c'mon. how old and obvious and time worn and shop worn are those statements and analyzations of a game? i get so sick of hearing coaches say those same things over and over in interviews i could choke.
i mean how many ways can you express the intricacies of a football game before it comes to just "trash talk" ?

But here is a story, up to mid 2000's Hadn't Minford only beat the Burg like 4-5 times, and I remeber a buddy telling me one time from Valley that Minford had beat Valley like 5 times from the early 80's to 2000. +/_

i have read very little at all from burg fans on here.

and i don't think losing the gold football for one year is going to send them into the vast wasteland any more than it's going to make valley a dynasty.

As for your initial question, yes, I really believe those things will be a huge key in order for Minford to have some success next Friday night against Waverly. Then again, those are just my opinions. I honestly don't care how hard you try, I'm not going to change how I feel about sports or the way I express said feelings because of your dislike of the way I go about it. At this point, I don't even know what you are trying to accomplish. You already look a bit silly. But, as we've already established, that's your right. I just hate it that we are wasting space and time going back and forth like this. Why do you even care?

You want the honest truth? Here it is....both wheelersburg and minford can't stand the fact that when valley joined the soc 2 EVERYONE said they wouldn't even contend in the first 5 -10 years because it's SOOOO HARD to adjust to the soc 2. And here we are in year 6 and Valley is competing for an SOC title....and no one can seem to accept that. Of course you'd know nothing about that because you've been around for a measly 10 months. Coming into the league I can't believe that I'd be saying Portsmouth west is the most respectful group. (Nothing against ya sharks...lol) This is the last time ill address the issue....but I can assure you no one who has been around will disagree. NOW THERE IS SOME TRUTH.

Valley has won many league titles before. Valley has yet to win an SOC II title, but they won many SOC I titles and an SOC title before that when there were no divisions. Valley could only play the games against the opponents in the conference they were assigned to, just as everyone else. Of course, back when Valley was in the SOC I, they were ALWAYS competitive with Minford. Which, is how rivalries should be. There are a lot of quality folks from Minford and a lot of quality atheletes have played for the Falcons over the years. You just go ahead and keep on talking wink. Talk is cheap!!!!

Jesco.....come on, you know we just competitive with minford because we got to "rest" through our schedule while they were beat up....this past 3 years where the 3 games were decided by a total 11 pts were just luck. Come on.

first off, i'm not "following you around" anywhere, (place a lot of importance on yourself don't you?) i'm simply reading the thread and the posts as they come. it just so happens that yours are a little more on the goofy side.... like for instance, i'm following you around.

secondly, my "initial question" is something you made up out of thin air. i never asked you if you thought those things would be key to winning. what i was asking you was, do you think saying such obvious things as "they need to open some holes" is any more exciting or informative than the more common trash talk of "i think so-and-so has a better team and will win (trash talk to you.)"
do you honestly think there is ANYBODY on here that doesn't know that so-and-so team has to open up some holes and "get in 3rd and short situations", etc., to have a better chance of winning?

I'm not interested in frustrating you. I'd personally prefer that you go away, but we both know that's not going to happen. So, I'll just continue to do my thing, and you'll continue to do yours. I have no hard feelings at all.
