Too hard to tell right now, maybe after some two a days and a scrimmage or two.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
The competitiveness of this game will depend in large part on whether Warren stays healthy and whether Belpre can get healthy. If Clay Ullman can get healthy in time for this game it will help Belpre a bunch. If not, things may be a little thin for the Eagles.
Here's hoping Clay can get his shoulder well in time for the season.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
Let's keep this on the front page . . .
Belpre needs to be at full strength to have a chance to break Warren's 3 game winning streak. Tate and Ullman were impact players in last year's game but it still wasn't enough. Now the Eagles will have to begin the season without both of them. Yikes!
We'll have to see how things shake out during practice and the scrimmages, but right now the Eagles seem a bit short-handed.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
As my old buddy from Marietta College once told me " We have been wrong for so long............but we have been right alot lately ". I can't come up with a better way to describe what is happening with the Warrior football nation.
Business is picking up at Warren..............it is also picking up at other league schools, but I see the Warriors taking care of business against Belpre. The dog days of summer will fade, and it is FOOTBALL TIME in the valley !!!!!

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
We wanna keep this one near the top, as its a pivotal game for two teams hoping to finish .500+ this year, and both have the potential to do it.
Any news coming out of either practice field? Hitting started today.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
historically this game is usually close, especially the past couple of years. i don't expect anything different this year. being the first game out of the box, mistakes, turnovers and the resulting momentum swings will play a big role. warren appears to have more depth and more experience overall. belpre seems to be very athletic and quick. the next two weeks will be interesting. still too early to make a prediction. let's see how the first scrimmages go on saturday.
go eagels!

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
Could somebody post the probable starters for Belpre (at least based on how things are shaking out now). If you could list ht/wt that would be great. This information is listed for Warren in the Warrior's SEOAL preview thread.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
In its first scrimmage Belpre probably bit off more than they could chew in scrimmaging a tough Philo squad. Warren beat a Caldell squad that is unproven. Next up Belpre scrimmages Eastern and Warren scrimmages what is supposed to be an improving Maysville team.
We'll see if Belpre can rebound against an Eastern that has struggled for years.
We'll see if Warren can continue to look strong against Maysville.

Re: Warren @ Belpre - Week 1
After hearing the results from the first scrimmages from both squads it sounds like the nod has to go to the warriors...sounds like belpre is going to struggle until they get ullman back...sorry to hear that tate is ineligable...that has to be real dissappointing for a senior....then again doesn't sound like very good senior leadership...its going to be a hot like always conditioning and depth will be the winning factor...
