Good game overall Portsmouth started off slow in the first half and went into half down 2-6 second half was a different story Portsmouth put the ball endzone 3 times to South points 1 winning 24-14

Portsmouth looked pretty good in the second half. I think Myers and the receivers finally got their timing worked out and that just opened everything up big time. It was definitely a case of South Point just running out of steam late in the game, by the end of the third quarter Portsmouth was clearly the fresher team.

Lot of mistakes early on and South Point is definitely great at killing the clock. I think the TOP was huge in their favor. Portsmouth in the second half was a much different team and took advantage of their posessions as South Point was doing a good job controlling clock. Great to get a W and finished strong which hopefully leads to a GREAT week of practice. Hats off to the Defense as yes they did give up 14 but in my opinion they were lights out except on 2-3 plays. Brennan Howard did a great job clogging up the middle along with the rest of the D.

I noticed most of south points players were playing both ways and clearly were tired in the 4th quarter.But south point played way better than I thought they would especially on the defense side of the ball.

Keep your heads up its only 1 game have a good week of practice and try to get batter.

yea definitely a lot of 2 way players and that #5 for SP is a hoss. Toguh to bring down and a tough runner.

great game to watch, the first half was a little boring but the 2nd half made up for it.

Portsmouth couldnt catch a cold though, their recievers dropped ball after ball. Although you could tell their QB was a little antsy earlier on with a lot of his passes thrown high. It took Portsmouth's coaching staff all of a possession to figure out what they needed to do to gain yardage against SP. Hats off to the SP defense though you all held tough til you got tired late in the 3rd and into the fourth. Doug keep workin hard and get in shape you were an animal tonight. Questionable play calling cost South Point IMO. 4th and 10 midway through the fourth down 2 and you run, you threw the ball one time all night for a TD ... they obviously knew what was coming they tackled him in the backfield i mean come on. And another thing down 10 with 3 minutes left yes tough task but impossible no ... at least give some effort to come back instead you run a toss to the short side of the field and pretty much sit on it then punt, COME ON these kids havent busted it for a month through two a days to go down like that .... THROW THE BALL!!!!

One receiver dropped 4 balls tonight, but don't say they couldn't catch a cold. They caught it when it counted. And I think they had one TD called back. I agree with the questionable play calling on S.P. coaching staff. 4th and 10 with 6min to go and they ran a trap. Overall I think Portsmouth was more physical and much better conditioned. Portsmouth had several players playing both ways and got stronger and more physical as the game went along. Big one next week guys. GO TROJANS

i didnt realize it was the same kid that dropped the passes Big Time my fault on that ... and yeah there was a TD pass called back, but it was clearly a clip ... and you are dead on Portsmouth was more physical and did get stronger as the game progressed ... Good Luck to you all this year. Was it me or was the crowd down for you all for a season opener?
