Athens turned it over 3 times. 2 picks and a fumble!

I will add that Those 2 int's were the first that Harris has thrown all year!!!!!

Great job by the Buckeyes. Especially the second half. Coach Boston really had the guys ready. They kicked our butts upfront with smaller more inexperienced players, and befuddled us on special team where we usually pick up a score or two. Their punt coverage was superior.
My son plays for Athens, said the Nelsonville York players were excited as they should be after the game, but were very respectful winners. Positive reflection on Coach Boston. Good luck next week.
The Bulldogs have to regroup and finish strong, still could go 9-1, and what a turnaround year that would be for Coach Adams and the boys. Live and learn.
Go Bulldogs!!!!!!!!!!!

Co-TVC Champs with the team that has dominated the TVC Ohio. It is a great start.

Back to my original post (video camera in hand with zoom on) I also had 'a field pass' and was literally down under the goal-posts for the Bucks two TD's ... I couldn't see what the heck happened via the fumble (too many bodies in the way) but I do remember a guy cursing at the refs saying he didn't get in & fumbled ...

I caught the final extra point on camera and man, you don't jump twice off-sides Athens - that kick may be wide right ... it just barely cleared ...

Also ... player of the game to me wasn't Cunningham or Arnold or Dean ... Like I said, I was under the goal-posts on the TD's and the guy that deserves the player of the game was the 'Bucks center. Vinnie Ryder is an absolute beast for Athens and has stuffed everyone all year from the middle guard (nose guard) position ... I did see him right before half take his pads off and was in serious pain - but Ryder - on the Buckeyes short jaunts into the end-zone was stood up and pushed backward by the kid playing center ... I mean, I have not seen one player all year do that to Ryder ... I think perhaps Vinnie was wanting to win so bad that instead of causing a pile in the middle - he wanted to make a play and tackle the runner behind the line of scrimmage (or he was hurt and kept playing) ... But the nose guard can't do that during that type of scenerio and the NY center did an outstanding job of firing off the ball ... Ive got the TD's right on tape, close up and all - and they will probably be shown on the Athens Messenger web sit later on (along with the extra point) ... But if Dave was to give a game ball out - I would give it to the center for sure.

As exciting as the TVC OHIO has been this year, can you imagine what impact Warren would have made in this wild horse race had the Warriors been voted into the TVC last year? They almost had the votes to get in at that time.

Warren defeated Meigs 27-26 in 2 OT. We could have also had Athens vs. Warren; Alexander vs. Warren; and Nelsonville-York vs. Warren this year!

Maybe in a few years, this will be a reality!

I would love to see Warren join. It would be nice to have another D2 school so people could get off Athens' back. ;-)

One more thought about the game: Turnovers and penalties make it very difficult to win any contest. Regardless of how good a defense is, it is hard to ask them to be on the field for more than two-thirds of the second half of a football game. But like it was mentioned above, Athens has done an outstanding job all year not turning the ball over. It is just unfortunate that it happened tonight.

These two teams gave both sides a classic game to remember , the best game yet. everybody was on their feet the whole time.. NY defence is solid and came out in the 2nd half and shut down the bulldogs. our line may be small but they got heart and alot of hittin power, fast to speed is our game :122249 congrats bucks tvc baby

I thought there would be more people in the stands for this one!! NY brought a lot of people up for this one but I seen a lot of empty seats in the stands for Athens!

That's because all the good seats, and alumni stand on the sidelines as close to the field as possible...

I hated seeing the referees tossing the flags around so much tonight. We knew this would be a very intense battle of two very good teams, but they were a bit one sided tonite and I really wanted to ask a few of them if they truly understood the rules of the game...

Athens was great in the 1st half, 13 points, stalled a NY drive that went deep into Athens territory...
NY was great in the 2nd half, 14 points, and forced 2 key Athens INT's setting up short fields both times...

If Athens had it all to do again, we probably would have ran on 3rd down, and forced NY to use their last time-out to stop the clock at around 2:30 ish I believe. Then Athens would have punted forcing NY to go from around their 30-40 yard line to score. NY did chew up the clock, but NY didn't move the ball fast, which Is something I thought the Athens Coaches would have keyed on, and when you have the best Defense in the league, you have to set them up with a successful chance at earning the win. They just stopped a powerful NY drive once, and then you give the ball right back to them with another short field, your asking too much...

I will say this though, If Athens completes the 3rd down pass instead of it slippin' through the WR's hands, then the Athens coaches are geniuses...

Great Sloppy Game!
Congrats to NY on another Doc Kroner Trophy victory...
...and most likely, Co-TVC-Ohio Champs...

The Alexander game had I would guess like 65% more people. While N-Y traveled well for this game Alex had far more people there than you guys did. Also there were people all around the track against Alex with the Alumni standing area 4-5 deep, tonight not nearly as many. I believe theweather played a huge part in the crowd factor, with several older fans and fans with younger children opting to sit this one out. I know that was the case with several kids that usually sit near us in the stands (my daughter included).

I think you can coulda, woulda, shoulda a lot of plays in this game that would have impacted the outcome. In my opinion that is how I would like to see this game go down for a long time. With the new Ohio division schedule starting next year and this game being moved to week 10, it's only gettin better.
