What's the talk about Miller football '09?

Post by carbon_dated »

What do they return on both sides of the ball. Watched them play @ Beallsville last fall and will make the trip to Hemlock this year.

I heard that they should be decent this year. They have some good talent. 4-6 maybe 5-5.
It's hard to tell though.

They mare mostly sub par for the most part. They had a couple of years where they made the playoffs but since they strugle to reach .500,

Will Miller be playing a full varsity schedule this year? I know it has been a while since they have done so.

No I don't take drugs. But you may want to go back and check their schedule. I am fairly certain that FCA is not recognized by the OHSAA as a varsity football team. Maybe you know something the OHSAA doesn't though?

They may be this year, but they were not last year, or the year before. Hence my question.

I see Miller is not playing them this year. Does the fact that they are apparently now a varsity team have anything to do with that?

Fairfeild christian Acadamy has had Varsity football for a number of years. Miller has played a Varsity schedule for as long as I can remember. I don't know who yold you they didn't, but they have.

I know for a fact that 3 years ago FCA was not a varsity team. Nor were they 2 years ago. As for last year they only played 5 games, and any game vs FCA did not count as far as OHSAA computer rankings. That leads me to believe that they were not considered a varsity team last year either. However, if you want to call a team varsity that plays only half their games against varsity teams thats your business.

They played 9 games last year. I think they had some kind of conflict with scheduling and couldn't pick up another game. 07-08 was there first year of varsity Football. Miller's JV did play them in 05-06 and 06-07. There games have counted towards playoff points since 07-08.

Go back and look on Joe Eitel. They had a 4 game schedule last year against varsity teams. The year before it was 2. So apparently they played 2 and 4 games the last two years respectively, or they had those games against varsity teams, and the rest against non varsity teams. Either way, there were no OHSAA points involved in games including them. To verify this, look on Miller's schedule on Eitel from last year. The asterisk beside FCA means that game did not count as far as OHSAA rankings. It says as much down at the bottom of their schedule.

Actually, they only played games against 3 varsity teams last year, since Landmark christian, one of their 4 opponents, is not recognized as a varsity team either. So over the past two seasons combined they have played 5 varsity teams. Personally, I can't consider them a varsity team.

Wow there probably hasn't been this much talk about Miller football in the last 10 years. I see what your are saying Motivator via JEitel about the varsity thing. I also saw that Miller lost to Fairfield Christian last season, and that one of Southerns wins was against Miller. Kinda casts a shadow over that optimism caused by the 4 wins last year in Tornado country doesn't it?
