East Band Director Passes Away

Just got word that East Band Director, Scott Brehm passed away this morning around 1 a.m. of a heart attack. Prayers to the Brehm family and the Tartan Regiment Family.

I know the couple people I have talked to so far are in shock about this.

Thank you so much from the East Tartan Regiment family for all of your prayers. It is a huge shock to all of us and it is really going to be so hard to go on without him. The band is really taking this hard, so please keep them and his family and friends in your prayers.

I saw that someone asked about his age... Scott was 49 years old. His father was also 49 when he passed.

Arrangements are being made right now for the viewing to be at the East gym at the beginning of the week and it is being handled by Brant funeral home.

Wow, he was very young. Yes I forgot to mention prayers to the band members. I hope you can all take this tragedy and dedicate this season to your director. I am sure he would have wanted you to carry on and do your best. It takes a special person to be a band director and I am sure he was no exception to the rule.

Thoughts and prayers from the 'beans clan. I got to know him and his band kids over the past 4 years as I "pulled the Pit" onto the field for them at the Green Festival of Bands each year. He was always always anxiously nervous before each performance and beaming with pride after the show was over. He accomplished more with so few numbers than anyone I have seen. His legacy will live on with every child he came in contact with. He will be missed but never forgotten.
