Kayla Cook, seven year starter for the WV Thunder and a senior at South Webster High School has verballed with the University of Cincinnati. Congratulations Kayla on an excellent choice of schools.

Awesome news Larry!!! The new coach at UC is a former assistant at UConn and it looks like she's after some top-notch recruits. I saw in the Cincinnati Enquirer that she also got a commitment from an excellent defensive guard from Mason I believe just this past week.

Tremendous high school career thus far and by looking at her cross country times early on.......she's looking at a state top 10 in XC.....which means she'll be even higher come track season.

Cook won the district XC race by a minute and was 4th at the regional race......a state competitor again.

I just read the article in today's Portsmouth Daily Times. After reading it, I thought they did an excellent job with the coverage. It stated she is rated 90 on the ESPN top 100. Pretty amazing for a youngster from South Webster. Best of luck to you and your future adventures in college. Can't wait to see you on the floor in the Big East.

Have a question? Seen a picture of Kayla's signing, Did the principal or athletic director come to her signing. I know she had her signing at home, but she just lives next door. The picture had her coaches from webster and her AAU coach from Huntington. Whats the deal? RAW if they didn't come and support her.
