SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mr. Unger finished his college career with a bigger school...one of the best hs players I've ever seen.
I also think Andrew is in the category with him. I'm glad he's getting some attention on the board...great player and a great kid. Not to take anything away from Blake, but I always thought Andrew was overlooked. One thing's for sure...any team that focuses on one and ignores the other will regret it.
I don't know about all of you, but all this talking about the Peebles Indians makes me really want to learn more about Indians teams of the past. Luckily there's a documentary that lets me do just that (http://www.wearetheindians.org)
I'm also putting one together about the '96 North Adams team. Suggestions for a title?

Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
yeah i got some ideas for the title. any of the above. Screwed by the buzzer, the shot was a full second late, ummm cheated. I'll never forget that, SOUR GRAPES
And on the Unger thing, he was a good high school player, but from what I've read on other threads here, hes not having a good time at Clermont. So, not really sure what to say about that.

Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
I've watched that shot about a dozen times on the computer while working on this thing, and you're right...it's embarrassing how bad that call was on such a high level of play.
Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
it is a shame that southern state doesn't have a better program. they have a great facility probably better than any other community college.
Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
You know, even though this board is called "SHL scores and standings" no one's posted a standing yet. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
O.K. folks while I do have to agree that Seaman is a good player and has gotten overlooked sometimes I do feel it necessary to state the obvious. In the Georgetown game who was their "big stud" Chadwell guarding---JUSTICE.......in the Ripley game who was their "quicker than crap point guard" Williams guarding---JUSTICE.....in the Zane Trace game who was their "big stud" Maxwell guarding----JUSTICE......do you see a pattern here yet? Let's wait and see how well he does when the other team starts putting their BEST player on him and NOT Justice!!! By the same token as far as Seaman being such a well rounded player, while he did have 29 points at the Convo (without Maxwell guarding him), he let his man (who was Maxwell) score 32!!! Just MO...

All good points but if you remember correctly Maxwell was gaurded well, the majority of his shots were very closely contested but he couldnt seem to miss.

Anyone have a score? I left in the 3rd quarter and Whiteoak was up by like 14.

Ok I'm gonna try to approach each of the last few responses in order.
1. Dave, nobody was trying to offend Kraig or take anything away from him. We all know he was good and like i said FROM WHAT WAS SAID it had to do with his grades, I didn't say it was fact. I was just suggesting reasons why he was at UC Clermont.
2. fhs_shl11 you obviously don't like Peebles or Seaman, bitter maybe? We all saw the real classy play at the end of that tromping we gave you last year when you guys tried to keep Justice from getting his 1,000 at home, so i'll consider the source while replying to this. I think your letting your clear dislike for Peebles get to your good sense (which im sure you have) there is no reason to try and downplay Seaman, hes a great player and so is Blake Justice, fact is it doesn't matter which one of they gets shut down, cuz they're gonna hurt you either way
3. As far as the topic about the best player guarding Blake, I thats debatable, just because the quickest kid guards him doesn't mean hes the best defender. Doesn't matter though, Blake is a dead eye shooter and we have all seen that it doesn't matter who guards him when he's stroking, hes gonna score regardless. He's just been off at the beginning. The difference between the two indians is that one doesn't force as many shots, plays better defense, has more assists, more rebounds, and doesn't get as much glory. BOTH PLAYERS ARE GREAT, i cannot stress that enough. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
4. Kraig Unger was great, he really was, but the fact is he played in a Southern Hills league that is no comparison to the old SHL. He wasn't being compared to or playing against players like Nathan Copas, RJ Buechler, Michael Frazier, Rob Preston, Joey Darnell, Adam Weber, or Brock Pistole. Now if you look at it like that I just can't honestly say that I can see him going somewhere huge when some of those guys didn't. I don't want to take anything away from him, thats just my opinion.
KG23 WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THE FACT THAT HE IS NOT TRYING TO OFFEND OR UPSET ANYONE. I JUST THOUGHT THIS WAS A PLACE FOR OPINIONS, AND THIS IS MINE. I THINK EVERYONE IS PLAYING HARD AND DESERVES KUDOS. ALSO, I HOPE EVERYONE DOES WELL NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. I WANT NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR EVERYONE. GOOD LUCK

Maxwell was guarding seaman all night not justice.

Hate to argue with you dmills but Seaman was guarding Maxwell and Maxwell was guarding Justice!!dmills wrote:letemplay wrote:O.K. folks while I do have to agree that Seaman is a good player and has gotten overlooked sometimes I do feel it necessary to state the obvious. Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
kg23 im not saying Justice is a bad player...he is the best player in the shl not seaman...and as for me disliking Peebles, that is your opinion because i was one of the first people to congratulate Blake for his 1000 point. And also you cant put something on a fan base for something a coach did..cause im sure the players nor the fans wanted to double team him...i kno i was upset when i seen the players doing it. So dont put it on me, other fans, nor the players for a coaching decision.
Also you didnt give a tromping...that was the top 2 players in shl...Justice THEN Seaman....did to the fairfield....not a fan, so you shuold give credit to the players not you.

Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
I think we all need to get along. Seaman is a horse, Justice is a stallion...lol, so quit complaing, we all know that seaman can go play college ball for a D-2 or bigger. Even if he doesn't have one good game, he has many more good games to make up for it. Now Kg23, I was the first person to congragulate Justice on his 1000 pt. from fairfield, so no need to get a fired up and say that you all thumped the Lions, because it was a thromping from 2 players. Granted, 2 players beat the team, there is no need to start making things up like a thromping. Peebles beat the lions, thats it, end of discussion.

Re: SHL 09-10 Scores and Standings
I'm making up some standings, but I'm missing 3 games
1. Confirmation of Whiteoak/Manchester form last night
2. Lynchburg vs fayetteville on 12/11, and Lynchburg vs. Blan from 12/15
any help here?
I do recall fhs saying lots of nice things about Peebles on these boards
