So who all is ready for school to start back up??????????
I kinda got mixed feelings this year, I am going to miss my daughter being home with me. we spent a lot of time together this summer and had lots of fun, amazing what happens when you take away cell phones and computers. Yes folks teeanagers can be fun to be around
But at the same time I look forward to the school time activities she does and of course FOOTBALL.
Of course I still haven't went out and bought the dreaded school supplies yet either.
Im not ready for it. My personal opinion is that kids go to school too much now. IMO, they should go back a week after Labor Day and get out in the 2nd week of May. But this is just my feelings on the matter, but I enjoy spending time with my kids.
I can't wait.....I just got back from school just gettin' things setup and ready to go.......I love this time of year!!!!!............Eager lil empty minds to be filled up with good stuff............
I enjoy summer with my kid, too, but keeping them home longer is irresponsible. Summer loss is a real thing. Kids lose all kinds of ground over the summer, so we take time every year to re-teach was was taught last year. They just lose it because they spend so much time without anything more than a tv, xbox and internet to stimulate their brains. Maybe you are that rare parent who requires your kids to keep reading, etc, over the summer, and that's great. Most parents don't. School is necessary. We can't send them to school less. We are already behind every other industrial nation in terms how much time we spend in school. Doctors, lawyers, and other professionals are increasingly foreign-born because they are outcompeting our kids to get into those programs in our colleges.
College educations in American are top-notch. Public elementary and secondary education is falling behind. The answer isn't less school. The answer is the same amount of school, maybe a little more, with a few shorter breaks throughout the year. They lose less ground. We get some time with our kids, and everybody wins.
I agree wilthing...I'd love to see a moddified year around school...........We are wayyyy behind other nations.............And fuzzy, I guess you must have had a bad experience in school to paint such a wide swath across all schools..............My school is nothing like your list..But isn't your list about the work world too...........hmmm.........I like to think our schools are more structured to the real world , not prison........Look at each one of those statements, and most of them fit the workplace......poor ole fuzzy...I wish you went to a school that liked you...............
I laughed at it. . . and some jokes can be laughed at. . . others aren't laugh-out-loud funny, but are remembered because they contain bits of truth that are blown out of proportion (like charicatures and the funny papers) - that's what type of "joke" that was. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you.
In Psychology theres a thing called Projection.....fuzzy, you like to throw around hypocrit a lot to me, like that is supposed to, I'm guessing here, make me mad.............Maybe you are just projecting your bad traits onto other people..........Counseling can work wonders........... ...................
Actually no I'm not. My son starts his freshman year at Ohio State on September 19th(move in day) and I'm not looking forward to him being gone. Don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of his accoplishments of finishing 2nd in his class and getting in the Honors Program at tOSU, but I'm going to miss having him around the house so it may take me a while to get over him leaving.
