Aug 13 1521
After an 80-day siege, Spanish conquistador Hernando Cortés captures Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec Empire. When the Spaniards fail to discover Montezuma's treasure, they torture Cuauhtemoc by pouring hot oil over his feet. The emperor responds by asking, "Am I on a bed of roses?" They hang him three years later.

August 13th, 1975 - Little Suzy gives it up for the first time in the back of my 64" Rambler. A monumental day in history, well at least for me anyway.

Good one Falcon.

I like the picture of the family. I see Cletus, Jeb, Bubba, Marvin, George, Herbert, Marcella, Mabel, and all the rest of the gang, but I don't see Suzy. That must have been taken the day I had her with me in the Rambler. :-D

April 6th, 1997 - A hearty but paltry gathering of 1,677 comes out to see the Blue Jays blank the White Sox at Comiskey Park. The game was originally scheduled at night, but was moved to daylight because of extreme cold. The only thing lower than the attendance (the paid take was just 746) was the temperature, which was 34 degrees at game time. It is the smallest crowd to see the Sox in 27 years.
