Probably just waiting until the scrimmages are over tomorrow night. At least I know I am. I'm sure things will heat up after that.

Even after tomorrow ,what arguement will I have? Wellston has lost 18 in a row. The last time Wellston won was 1989.This will be the 100th meeting and Wellston has 26 wins.I think it will be a good game, physical and hopefully injury free for both teams.
GO ROCKETS!!!!

The past is the past though. I'm sure that the history of the rivalry is in the back of the players' minds, but they need to forget about that. Jackson can't rely on the fact that they have had previous success against the Rockets. At the same time, Wellston doesn't need to worry about what has happened before because they can't change it. They just have to play the game on Saturday night and that's it.
Re: Here it goes... Jackson vs. Wellston
i will say this about wellston they sure have a rough opening 4 game OUCH! 1-3 maybe 0-4 start.
Re: Here it goes... Jackson vs. Wellston
haven't seen either team, but i'll step out on that limb. this will be the year wellston gets it done! prater tears it up, the rockets break the streak and early season bragging rights go to the tvc! jmo

Could you imagine how fast coach Hall would get run out of town if the Ironmen lost this game. I hope he hasn't bought a house in Jackson yet. Just in case.

Rivalry???? 73 wins for jackson in 99 contest.... This is strictly a money game!!! Wellston has won every time, if they beat Jackson great for playoff points if they don't they take half the gate and pay for next year season with one game. I think Jackson wins by 3 touchdowns, from what I have seen they will have fewer players playing both ways hopefully that leads to better 2nd half play then they have had in the past.

This has to be Wellston's year. They are loaded with three year starters and Jackson had a coaching change and are in the midst of retooling both the O and the D. If Wellston does not get it done this year, I don't see it happening any time soon.

i agree. Many of the football buffs (and coaches think that this is Wellston's year to get it done.
I am still straddling the fence. I could see this game going either way, regardless of what the overall record of this matchup has been in the past.
Hall wont be going anywhere anytime soon even if he does lose this one. It is not easy taking a program over, and Jackson has been an underachiever the past few years. Remember the Titanic didnt turn on a dime.

Re: Here it goes... Jackson vs. Wellston
Can you really say jackson underachieved this past few years with some of the teams they've lost too. i know they let one go at gallia but they played their last four games without their star running back last year thats hard to play through
Re: Here it goes... Jackson vs. Wellston
I don't know if Jackson should be considered an underachiever the last few years. They certainly haven't had the seasons they would have liked to have, but they weren't really expected to be SEOAL title contenders either. With the increase in schedule difficulty, 5 or 6 wins the last few years for the teams that Jackson has had is probably right on par. Doesn't really matter now though.
The scrimmage tonight wasn't too encouraging as a Jackson fan. Wheelersburg's offensive and defensive lines did pretty much anything they wanted all night long. I'm not trying to be overly critical of our kids, but they certainly need to work hard this coming week. Wheelersburg is definitely one of the very best teams in the area, but if Jackson wants to get a win in Week 1, they have to play much better than they did tonight. Wellston apparently looked pretty good against Zane Trace, so I'm sure they're going to be very confident coming down to Jackson next weekend. It's up to the Ironmen to step it up and get ready for next Saturday night. Week 1 is the week that the Ironmen have owned the last 18 times...don't let that change!!!

They were VERY impressive tonight. They certainly seem to be capable of having a great year and making a deep run into the playoffs.
