8/29 Ashland Verity 6 over St. Joe 0. Not much good to report.

9/1 St. Joe 7 over Chesapeake 0. Much better team work.
Goals by:

Nice shut-out by goalie: Willis

Nothing too serious. He fell awkwardly on his arm. Missed a little playing time, but we think he will live.

Just got word at the local grocery that there were several Columbus Crew scouts on hand tonight to check out the parental talent during the parent-kid Flyers scrimmage.

Word is that they were quite impressed with the skillz of one Lloyd Xmas and offered a hefty signing bonus to which Lloyd politely declined.

Lloyd is a little too old for them to offer any kind of long term contract. However, the buzz was pretty strong about "R. McG" approaching the prime of his career. I expect you will see a write-up in the Ironton Tribune about his future in soccer real soon. As a matter of fact, I just saw Jimmy Walker turn on Batham Lane with camera in hand. Also, rumor has it that Randy Yohe was asking for directions to Ironton.

LOL! I love it, that explains his early flight out of the area this morning. He was rather cryptic on his facebook update, come to find out he's jetsetting it with USA soccer.

I bet he's in the lineup for the USA in their WC qualifier tonight.

You got it! When that Davies fellow had his car accident, they needed a replacement. The obvious choice was "McSoccer" from Ironton, Ohio.
