Nice weather in the forecast for Friday nite and as a result I am going with the Tigers against the Devils.......I think we have too many weapons for Ivan this year.............

I wouldn't completely count Russell out of it, never underestimate an opponent... plus Travis Jones is a pretty good athlete they have. but i do think this will be an easy win as well for the orange and black.

Wow, it's been since 1992 since we've played Russell! I didn't realize it had been that long. Good luck this week Tigers!

How about the 1989 game? The year Ironton last won the state and Russell battled Ironton down to the wire. The Tigers Squeaked out of there with a 7 point victory and felt blessed to do so!

Russell was also the second game on The Tigers' Schedule that year as well. Ironton had defeated Portsmouth West by about the same margin the week before as they did Wheelersburg this year. 24 to 8 in this year's game, 20 to 7 over West in 1989.

A little food for thought, and I hope I'm right on this, I think I am. Travis Jones has ties to Ironton. His mom is a graduate of I town from back in my day. Hopefully and injury free game to all and a Tiger victory tonight!
