It was a great scramble as usual. Coach Combs and Hale, the volunteers, and Fairgreens staff did a great job setting everything up.

I think Norm made it the whole day without throwing a club and rarely made any negative statements about his game. He kept telling me and JJ how remarkable we were though.

I didn't have the time to go to the scramble, wish I did. It sounded like fun. I was speaking to an administrator from Jackson and he said that not only did Combs have Persin there, but I guess there were a bunch of coaches there. David Kight of Western, Gene Layton of River Valley was there, Heath McKinnis of Gallia, and he said Larry Jordan would have been there, but he had something he was doing with his grandchildren. It is great to see local area coaches supporting each other.

With Wellston being so close by, I'd assume Coach Derrow was there as well. hawkeye, would I be correct in that assumption?

No, that was not the case. However, his nephew Andy played.

Solomon, just a point of correction. Heath McKinniss is the Assistant Coach at University of Rio Grande. He came to Jackson as assistant to Dustin Ford, then took over the Jackson girls program and had back to back double digit wins in two seasons before joining Kenny French's staff at Rio.

Ah, yes I think I knew that. But I think I made my point. Jake Roberts, you are too funny. It is even funnier thinking if I remember correctly, Derrow had a scramble last year for his Vegas trip and a member of Fairgreens told me he had only 3 or 4 teams show up. I wonder how many teams were at this scramble?

I talked to Coach Persin, and he said that him and Coach Combs were really smoking the ball and playing well as a 2 man team for a couple of holes, and then these other 2, who he referred to as "hacker" and "whacker" showed up. I was just wondering if anybody from VC could tell me who these 2 "impostors" were, pretending to be golfers. So as not to embarass them by name, you can send me a PM. Have a good day.
