WEEK 7 Waverly @ Wheelersburg

Post by Old Bulldog »

Homecoming for the Burg. Stay focussed. Don't get caught looking ahead to Minford, Valley and West young Pirates. The homecoming queen and her court won't look so pretty if this one ends up slipping away. I'll take the Burg in this one.

Is the weatherman right? A Waverly at Wheelersburg football game without rain?

Wheelersburg should win this one, though I'll be pulling for the Tigers.

Burg comes back home after two weeks on the road. Need to take care of business tonight and next week to set up the huge showdown with Valley.

Good luck Pirates

Burg outscores the Tigers 27-0 after being down 14-7 in the 2nd quarter and win this one 34-14. Shears had 222 yards on 20 carries at one time but may ended up with less by taking a knee a few times to end the game. Waverly had no answer for his running tonight.

Congrats to the Pirates on the 6th with in a row to go to 6-1 on the year.

Sounds like Waverly gave Burg all they wanted the first half.

I think Burg took Waverly a little to light in the first half, but you also have to give Waverly some credit. They are not a bad team. I am kind of shocked that they are 1-6. They have a huge O-line and some nice RB's and WR's. They just seemed to wear down in the 2nd half and they just didn't play with the same intensity to start the 3rd qtr. Burg came out and went down and scored to get the lead back on the way to the 20 point win.

Burg now has to travel to Minford next week where they lost a tough one 2 years ago.

Waverly was up on Valley 14-7 early on if my memory serves me. Same result.

Actually Valley was up 14-0 n waverly scored making it 14-7 valley... then Valley went on to make it 35-7 (or so) at halftime and ended up winning 54-14....
