Let's see...Jackson has beaten Wellston how many times in a row? Enough to go beyond the mid-late 90s? Seems to me that Jim Reynolds had some of the very best SEOAL football teams ever back then and won the league going away for about 3-4 years in a row. Worst beat down I ever saw a GAHS team take on Memorial Field was 58-14 to Jackson.
I guess playing Wellston didnt do anything to hurt Jackson's league or playoff chances then, did they? Perhaps it is more a matter of talent on hand than who you schedule. Hmmmmmmmmmmm? If Logan played and destroyed Wellston the last ten years or so do you honestly think it would have made any difference in their season records, league championships, or playoff appearances?
It's all about the talent and coaching.

ANYONE can win when they have talent. Great programs win when they don't have elite talent. Logan did not have elite talent in 2005 or 2006. Yet those teams were barely touched in the SEOAL.
I attribute that to our program stepping and challenging themselves. Would schedule matter for this years Logan team? Heck no. But there is NO doubt in my mind that the '05 and '06 teams GREATLY benefited from seeing Lancaster and Pick North early in the season.
