Chesapeake @ Symmes Valley - Does "The Streak" end Friday?

Post by fuzzhead »

Symmes Valley's 2-0 after beating Fairfield Christian, 37-22.
Chesapeake on the other hand is 0-2 after two pretty bad losses to Oak Hill and Wayne.
Can the Vikings end Chesapeake's long winning streak in the series?

I hope so. Last time Symmes Valley beat them was 20 years ago. I'll be at the game as it is my ten year class reunion.

Ten years ago when we played Chesapeake we beat them in every category but the score. Had over 400 yards rushing. But we had over 200 penalty yards and 3 touchdowns called back if remember right.

I watched Symmes Valley play Rock Hill and they seemed to have a little more speed than the past couple of years so hopefully we can compete.

I remember the 6-0 game back in '04 - easily the best Viking team ever and possibly one of the top 5 Peake teams ever.

Yeah that was Symmes Valley went deep in the playoffs.

The year before that was a better game. Chesapeake had a 1500 yard rusher in Hunt and SV kept him under 20 yards.

Clark a transfer from Fairland that year saved the game for Chesapeake.

Welll I do agree that 04 was a very good team but to say they are easily the best ever from Symmes Valley is claiming alot! If memory serves me correctly the team from 1990 went undefeated in the regular season. Something even 04 could not claim. Yes 04 went farther in the playoffs but 90 had the best regular season ever. Both teams came away with alot of good memories of their football years at SV.

Chesapeake will win by 2 or 3 TD's, if Chesapeake would play a whole game and not just the first half they could have possibly won either of their previous 2 games.

I have to disagree about them being able to win either game. I was at the Oakhill game and it was just not going to happen. Yes they may beat SV next Friday. Odds are they probably will if things go as they usually do when we play Chesapeake but they were never in the game against Oak Hill.

We'll just say that the '04 team was the best one to ever lose to Chesapeake.

Over some of the past few years Chesapeake has lost their first two games and at times looked bad. Then when SV game comes they look totally different. The week after the Wayne game they seem to start to put it together. This is a game where records do not matter because that is why you play the game. Maybe this might be the year for SV to win. Always a big crowd no matter where it is played.

Well, I look at it this way:

I'm not going to pick Symmes Valley in this game until the Vikings prove they can beat Chesapeake.
The Panthers have won 19 straight in this series and I'm guessing the last time Symmes Valley beat them was the undefeated season of 1990. Chesapeake went 1-5 in the OVC that year. Now Chesapeake is down, but I can't see them only winning 1 conference game this year.
I want to go with the Vikings in this one, but common sense says not to go with a team that's lost 19 straight. If they win, I won't be shocked at all, though

Chesy is not very good and I think Valley has a 50-50 chance of winning this game. I think it will come down to the 4th qt and who makes the least amount of mistakes. Go OVC

I dont't really see why everyone is talking about "The Streak". 09 Symmes Valley and 09 Chesapeake have never played each other so as far as I am concerned the series is 0-0. I think Symmes Valley will come away with the win in this game if they play with that attitude.
