Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
Let's let the coaches coach and the kids play the game. I'd say the adjustments and issues have already been handled. And i would bet my blue paul reed smith that the coaching staff of minford felt that the win against wellston was "too close for comfort".

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
I agree with one of the earlier comments, Minford will take this one....Let the JV play the 3rd quarter and the Freshman play the 4th. If they have to dress for the game then they should be made to feel apart of it as well...
I guess several took this comment the wrong way, dont read so much into it.....

My guess is that once the coach realizes that they feel like they "HAVE TO " dress for the game..... they no longer will have to......
In MOST cases it is considered a privilege for freshmen to GET TO dress with the varsity.

I agree 100%. If you don't want to dress on Friday , you could stay home next year. It is a privilege for a freshman to get to dress , so mommy bring your cross stitching and pay your dues like everyone else has.

I am sorry to beat a dead horse but this is the type of attitude that is a virus in the community. Stay home if you are just in it for your boy. This comment just ticks me off.

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
I think you misunderstood my comment. All I was saying was the freshmen dress for the games because they are apart of the team and it is good that they get to do that. What I was trying to get across was if the varsity team is playing a game that they have no compitition in then what harm is it to let ALL the players on the team play?????? It would make the freshman/sophmores day to be a part of a win like that. So tell me, what parent doesnt want to see thier child play?? I have gone to the games since before he was big enough to play, didnt have 1 family member playing but enjoyed watching the falcons. So for the one that left the comment about that your apology is accepted

I am not offering an apology , I stick by my statement. You are now including the sophomores too? Learn a little about what it takes to put a TEAM on the field and I will await your apology.

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
I mentioned the sophmores and freshmen both in the 1st comment...maybe u should read it again....Im not sorry for anything I said. If you dont like my comments then dont read them. We are all falcon friends, my opinion is no different than yours...JUST AN OPINION. I will be at the games cheering every player on just as they were my own... believe it or not I played sports my whole life I know what its like to work your way up in the game and so does my child. These comments came from me not him, he thinks its great to even be on the team.
Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
How bout we worry about getting a victory ppl. It seems selfish and silly that we as parents try to show support to a winning program but always seem to drag it down when people aren't satisfied. If we want to be the type of community to support a winning team let's quit arguing about issues that are irrelevant to the team. I know we aren't them, but alot of teams don't allow freshmen to play in the varsity games. To the minfordmom, if we are ahead enough i'm sure the jv and fresh will get the opportunity to play. But freshmen are usually the last to be put in. I hope he gets that oppurtunity tonite but if not his time will come and i will be one of the fans in the stands cheering him on.

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
Minford needs to come out fired up and stay that way tonight. I think they will win big, and show what they are made of. They need somebody to step out tonight and lead the defense. Someone to step up and make the big hit, or make the big stop, or the big turnovers. For the last few years Minford has been blessed with good linebackers, that always made the big plays, when needed. But they are gone, and nobody has stepped up to take over the job. Tonight will be a great chance for one of them to really step up and lead this team. Everybody knows that your are only as good as your defense will let you be. I think they have the players to be a great defense, but everyone is just setting back waiting for someone else to lead the way. I know it's not the coaching, because the same coaches are still there, and have always done a great job. I just think they need some confidence, and one of them to step out and lead them. Hopefully it will happen tonight.
The offense has looked real good at times, and so so at times. I think tonight they will put it together and really rack up some yards.
I just want to take some time and let the Coaches know how proud, we at Minford, are of them. These coaches have turned the program into something a Minford grad. can be proud of. We went from one of the worst, every year in the SOC II, to one of the best in Southern Ohio. Even though we have had a couple different head coaches, these guys have always been on the staff, and are the major reason for the change.
Good Luck

I agree with you completely....This is childish on both our parts. I do understand that the jv and fresh dont usually get to play, NOT a big deal was simply making a suggestions/opinion....I want the team to win even if its using only seniors, I dont care. My son can make a mean water boy. haha just kidding. Go Falcons!

Heard Coach Daniels is "running the veer" this week, any truth to that?

With all due respect, no, I don't think I did misunderstand your comment. This ain't Biddy League here where everybody gets to play and everybody gets a trophy and you need to get out of that mindset and be patient and wait your turn... it will come when the time is right.
There are several " varsity" players that don't get to play all that much either. This kind of situation is a very good opportunity for them gain some experience in preparation for next year. After all, they have worked hard and sweated all year too and would be very happy to be a part of "the win".
In the first place, I don't think I would be counting on the score being all that wild. Valley only beat them 14-0 didn't they?... and Valley has a pretty good team.

Yes I know this...I wasnt saying the varsity team should sit the bench. I simply thought it would be great if all 60 or so players got in for a bit. Do I think the freshmen should get in before the varsity or jv players that usually stand on the sideline, Heck no. It would just be good experiences for them. Thats all Im saying, for those of you that I offended, I truely didnt mean to step on toes.

You have got to be kidding me. IF THEY HAVE TO DRESS FOR THE GAME?? I have the answer for that one. If they or their parents feel that way, then stay home. Have to dress.....!!! I hope that was just a poor choice of words and not how some feel because if you feel that way you need to go somewhere else. This TEAM is about more than 1 player and certainly about more than a freshman. The upper classmen paid their dues and your son will too. Hopefully someday he will be an upper classman on this team and hopefully the "have to dress" or "have to play" mentality matures with it and goes away.
That being said, the focus is on the game tonight. Good luck Minford.
