I agree with one of the earlier comments, Minford will take this one....Let the JV play the 3rd quarter and the Freshman play the 4th. If they have to dress for the game then they should be made to feel apart of it as well...
You have got to be kidding me. IF THEY HAVE TO DRESS FOR THE GAME?? I have the answer for that one. If they or their parents feel that way, then stay home. Have to dress.....!!! I hope that was just a poor choice of words and not how some feel because if you feel that way you need to go somewhere else. This TEAM is about more than 1 player and certainly about more than a freshman. The upper classmen paid their dues and your son will too. Hopefully someday he will be an upper classman on this team and hopefully the "have to dress" or "have to play" mentality matures with it and goes away.
That being said, the focus is on the game tonight. Good luck Minford.
OMG, it was a figure of speech, get over it people!

Well that's good to hear. That has been the mentality with many in the past and all it did was cause dissension, hence why so many took issue with it. As long as it was a misunderstanding then that's where it can be left.

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
Congrats to Minford on a 57-6 victory. It could have been a lot worse but the clock ran continuously from the 2nd qtr on for the most part, plus the 1st string came out after the first series in the 2nd half.
I may be wrong but I don't think Huntington had a first down until the 2nd and 3rd string went in.
Time to start preparing for Coal Grove.

Re: Week 3 Huntington @ Minford
Falcons were as advertised tonight, they came out focused and executed very well. Falcons go to 3-0 for the third straight year. Good win for Minford, now on to coal grove preparations. If the Falcons play with that intensity and focus they will be a very hard team to beat.
Re: Minford 57 Huntington 6
dont wont to beat a horse- but you guys should be honored that your freshmen kids get to dress for games ours do not. That must be a great feeling for the freshmen boys to hear those crowds cheering lowdly that would be awesome my son says the best feeling now on varsity is to hear the crowd when they come running out from below the stadium

Minford dominated this game from start to finish and soundly beat a struggling Huntington team. I will say that I was glad to see the Huntsmen never gave up in this game, they still fought hard and ran hard on every play. Time for Minford to step it up and get ready for a tough CG team.

Re: Minford 57 Huntington 6
I remember when Minford would dress the freshman and they had 45 on the roster, counting the freshman. Now, Minford doesn't dress the freshman and they have about the same number on the sidelines. This is great #'s and shows the program is building up in #'s. I think the freshmen will get bigger and stronger with the anticipation to play as sophomores. They will get their turn. I do believe if you have a special talent in a freshman they should play varsity. But size makes a difference on this level.
