Re: oak hill vs. minford....
If I am Oak Hill, I am focused on playing Rock Hill tomorrow night and nothing else right now.
Then at Trimble the next week.
I don't worry about Minford until the week of that game.

Oak Hill 38 - River Valley 0
Minford 42 - River Valley 0
Now, I'm not a big advocate of comparing scores vs. a common opponent as a means of gauging what will happen in a future game. However, when I look at the above scores and the way both teams played against River Valley, I can't help but wonder what you mean when you say that Minford isn't on "there A game this year at all". I'm a little puzzled as to how you came up with that thought?

As for the game, I agree that it's still pretty early to be talking about it, but I think it has the potential to be a quality game.

Jesco White....I agree. I don't see how anyone can say "Minford hasn't been on its A game" this year.

Re: oak hill vs. minford....
I gave you my thought on the game as it stands at this time and I also asked you a question because I didn't understand how you came to your point. I appreciate you answering my question. I'm not sure why you are coming across defensive in regards to my question, but I appreciate your answer anyway.
Best of luck to both teams in the next two weeks leading up to this game. I think it's more than safe to say that Oak Hill has a lighter load than Minford leading up to the game. The Falcons are heavy favorites this week against Huntington Ross, but then will have a very big game with a very talented Coal Grove squad in Week 4. The Oaks are heavy favorites against Rock Hill this week, then have a Trimble squad that I believe is better than their 0-2 record might indicate to some on the surface. I would still anticipate Oak Hill being favored in that game as well.
I like what the Oaks have this year and think they have an opportunity to put together a very nice season. I can see why you would be excited about the OH-Minford game, as it is going to be one of very few chances at a big points game. Unfortunately for Oak Hill, they are probably going to need to run the table in order to make the playoffs as strong as Region 19 looks to be this year.

I'm not sure about the Oak Hill game. But, the score I heard while at the Burg/Ironton game was Minford 42 River Valley 0 with 6 minutes to go in the second quater at which time Minford JV team played the remainder of the game. Again I was not there but thats pretty impressive.

Re: oak hill vs. minford....
SPAMONY,
That is correct. Like you, I also was not there, but having spoken in great detail with those closely involved to the program who were there, the Falcons did let off the first team throttle before halftime and the reserves got the bulk of the playing time in the game.
I think it's still too early to tell who has exactly what, but I think the Falcons have shown they have some ability this year and should be able to compete in what looks to be a tough SOC II this year, as well as against their non-conference opponents.
From what I've read and heard, Minford has struggled in the secondary at times defensively, and Oak Hill has one of the areas top QB's in Slone. I think that is an area that could be key in this game. At the same time, the Falcons players and coaching staff have two more weeks/games to shore up the secondary before facing Slone and the Oaks.
I look at Oak Hill as being the early favorite to win the SOC I, but I also think there is a huge drop-off between the SOC I and the SOC II this year. All be it still very early, and many things are yet to be seen, I believe there are 4 or 5 teams on Minford's schedule that are better than or as talented as Oak Hill right now. Those teams being Coal Grove, Wheelersburg, West, Valley, and possibly Waverly; in no particular order. That's not to say that I think Oak Hill is a weak team, because as I've stated in previous posts, I think the Oaks have the makings of a very solid team that could put together a very good season. I'm only pointing out that Minford is most likely the best team on Oak Hill's schedule this year, whereas I don't believe the same can be said the other way around.
Regardless, I don't have a dog in the fight and I wish both teams nothing but the absolute best all season long. I think both have a chance to put together excellent seasons and I look forward to seeing where both are in two weeks as this game approaches.
Good luck.

Hasn't*** please use proper grammar. You are proving you are either a kid on the football team or just a kid in general. If you are on the football team you should be focusing on tonight's game anyways. We will talk about Minford after we take care of Rock Hill and Trimble in the upcoming weeks.

The half time score of the Oak Hill game was 38-0 and the varsity did not play the rest of the game. the second string played the second half.
LET'S FOCUS ON ROCK HILL TONIGHT OAKS! GO OAKS!

IMHO Slone has to prove he can beat a worthy opponent, who has he beat that has had a winning record since he started QBing?

I'm not sure. Then again, I don't think any one kid can be expected to beat a worthy opponent by himself. I agree that as a team the Oaks really need to turn the corner and pick up a win over a quality opponent. Since Slone and company stepped in as freshmen, the Oaks are just 1-6 against opponents with a winning record and 0-5 against opponents who qualified for the playoffs.
I think that will be something worth watching out of the Oaks this season: if they can turn that corner in the progression.

Re: oak hill vs. minford....
i know that oak hill has not won hardly any games with teams that had a winning record. i think the oaks are capable of doing that this year, i think its the best oak hill team that has played for 10 years or more. sisnce we have been in the soc any way. and we have lots to prove when the minford game comes around but we do take it one step at a time dont say we dont. when we play tonight and walk off with that big W we will prepare for trimble all next week in practice then after that thats when we will work for minford, there is nothing wrong with talking about a game before its played.

Re: Week 5 Oak Hill vs. Minford
Oaks in for another long game vs falcons Oaks non-conference schedule is a joke except Minford. Might want to win soc1 before making comments about falcons.
