Still 20-7 with 1:10 left in 3rd. Athens has had two HUGE defensive stands in the red zone again this half. Offense beginning to move the ball a little on third possession.

Don't let the final score fool you, Bloom Carroll is a solid team. The running back and kicker for BC are really impressive. Congratulations to both teams for a well played, hard hitting contest. I would also like to say that the sportsmanship in this game was awesome, I saw players on both sides helping each other up and congratulating effort for their competitors, Good job boys. Get ready for Meigs next week!

Awesome showing. Contributions by all. Defense was kick butt.... Bloom scored early and that was it for a long long time.
Time to refocus on the Marauders coming to Athens next week. Meigs is 1-2 but will probably be the best team Athens has faced so far this season. Certainly no disrespect to anybody else.
Great crowd, great atmosphere.

Re: Athens 41 Bloom Carroll 14
The way Athens played tonight, I can honestly say it was the first time since 1990 that I have witnessed an Athens team look, act, play and hit like a rough neck school/team from Southeastern or Southern Ohio. Nelsonville-York plays like it every year, Trimble does too but on a smaller scale ... Ironton, Logan, Jackson they all are accustomed to good ol fashion slobber knocker football, but not us Athens folk ... everyone knew it was possible, very, very hard, but possible .... what Adams has done with the football program is nothing short of amazing ... even if they don't win games; its how they are playing is what's impressive ... but 3-0 isn't bad to enjoy though ...
Next Friday comes a real test, lets hope they play the way they did tonight!

Wow. Never thought that would happen last night. Athens is a much improved team. Does anyone know why we only gave it to Kilby less than 10 times? I am definately a guy that doesn't mind spreading the wealth and getting people involved but he is a guy that can control a game on the ground. I am 100% behind Coach Forrest and the BC coaching staff but throwing the ball 30 times probably isn't the way to beat any remaining teams on our schedule. I think McGraw can be a really solid QB you just have to put him in the right spots to be successful. Like I said I don't care who touches the ball as long as we win, but when you look on the field I think it is safe to say that Kilby (RB) and Kraft (TE) are our two best weapons. Was I missing something last night?

I was wondering why Kilby didn't get the ball more often myself, he was a beast with the ball in his hands on runs and kick returns.
Re: Athens 41 Bloom Carroll 14
A-Town...the town of Carroll is kind of wondering the same thing. I bet Athens had a nice sigh of relief every time we went into the shotgun last night. Kind of weird but Coach Forrest must have had some method to his approach.
