I will agree with the tackling statement, if you are going to load up for a big hit then you better make the hit, and please stop arm tackling, that nevers works. All in all I am now done with this topic this game is over and now it is on to bigger level 1 points in Greenup County, and besides with current computer points we are still ahead of Minford.

That, my friend was uncalled for. However, you will get a warm welcome to "The Rock" on October 9th, I assure you of that.

Man, that was the greatest game of football I've ever watched. After last nights performance and the past 2 years, I would laugh so hard to hear anyone say they still have "the ole Minford attitude". I teared up after last nights game because of how great Minford played. 1st half was a little rough. Stupid mistakes an just not acting like they were wanting to play football an it had me worried as it probably did the other 6-700 Minford fans there. I give all the props to coal grove as well. They played the best football i've ever seen from a coal grove team and there doing things different this year by giving the D- Coordinators from the opposing team to key on an thats passing the ball. Before they were just known as " 3rd 10, we're going to run " type team. Wouldnt be suprised to see a rematch in the playoffs. I wasnt expecting to see a regional title game last night as well :-D :-D

Good Luck Coal Grove the rest of the year an will see you in the post season hopefully

As for Minford, I'll be seeing you next week against the Oaks :)

I was the young man you referred too in the scoreboard side endzone...and I did throw my hands up and leave after listening to those guys refer to Minford as "hilljacks, from a little podunk town". (overheard that guy talking to another guy) and cussing me for rooting for my alma mater. I was there with my wife and nephew and could not believe the disrespect, lack of class, and rudeness out of a group of human beings. I was enjoying a great game and wish I could have seen the last few minutes, unfortunately I didnt feel comforatable with the situation so we left and later heard the outcome of the game through a friend.

To the Minford Fans:

I was at the endzone where the safety call and two point call was made, and we did "NOT" get in on either one. Ray Bryan was hit hard and his knee bounced at about the half yard line, and Dewalder made it out to about the 1 yard line . So the officials did get those calls right.

Yeah, I couldn't believe that guy and yet the cop never said a word to him until someone said something to him. I don't know what they lady said to him. I don't think it was bad, just telling him how he acted was a little out of line. he smarted off to her and I think if there hadn't been a cop standing there they would have went at it.

You probably did the right thing by just leaving, but that is just wrong that you had to miss the end of a pretty good game. I probably wouldn't have left. Just would have gave him a earful. Hilljacks, or you serious. He has a lot of room to talk. He had no class at all.

Ohh get over it! Only the rightfully accused are offended. I have no idea of the situation or what happened, but one fan doesn't speak volumes for the rest of the CG fans. I try to stay unbiased and I am still going to be unbiased here... but if no harm came from it, stop complaining!! You got a good win and made it out of town alive, so be happy!!

Dude you'll never sell another picture on the internet as long as you continue to stand up for people like that who represent your community, as far as i'm concerned he is an ebarassment to Coal Grove, and for you to defend him is just bad buisness and or advertising.

Oh and by the way, for us "making out of town alive" ...I think that Coal Grove had already had enough crow for one evening. Lets just leave it at that.

Muletownmaniac,

I hope you are a child! I can't imagine an adult painting an entire community with the same paint based on a few rude and stupid fans. The fact is we all have some of those. Believe me, I think Ironton has some of the best fans around but I am not so blind to say we don't have those whom I am embarrased for at the games at times. We all have them.

I have no idea whom the guy is whose post you just replied to, but I don't think he is defending the dumb arse who may have done what he is being accused. I just think he, like most of us, hate to hear people dwell on things and judge entire communities for the acts of a few. It is time to move on and concentrate on next Friday.

Minford fans calling Coal Grove's fans classless? Tell me it's not so! :122246

I am not going into particulars but when we, Wheelersburg, played them , I have to say there were some really rude and nasty fans from Minford! I will give just one example: I had some trouble with two grown men as my 4 year old and I were standing by he decided to use very foul language directed at us and the louder he talked the more he smelled of shat and liquor. Now, that's classy.

Let me clarify... Coal Grove is my alma mater but I am unbiased to what happens there, but you saying that the whole community is awful for something that happened with one person in the endzone at the game can't echo to the rest of the community.

Besides, if you are saying that you are no longer going to buy a photo because of me trying to defend an illegitimate comment which (in a way) is directed at me, you weren't going to buy it anyway. Don't try to pick fights... all that I am saying is that you should just drop it. Some things that I see at ball games bother me sometimes but you don't see me complaining on the internet about it do you? If you are offended enough, contact an administrator and handle the situation like an adult. If not, just drop it and start posting about your thoughts about Oak Hill.

To everyone else, sorry that I have piped up. I hope that I haven't changed anyones thoughts about me. It just makes me sick to see someone acting irrational.

I wonder if it was the same group of fans that I saw make complete idiots out of themselves at a 7-8 yr old girls softball tourney in the summer.

buckeyeshots,

I seriously doubt that your opinion of people just moving on after a bad experience is going to change the opinion of any sensible person. You do a darn good job, by the way.

there are a few bad apples everywhere. some parents and fans get to involved i seen stupid stuff from both sides, but as i was leaving i told the minford players great game and one of the coaches. as we were getting in the truck my son was there in a cg jersey and a few people saide cg sucked and he looked and saide can i say something and isaide why? to be childish like them, as we were pulling out behind the minford band as they were yelling and which it was celebrating seen a cg principle get on a bunch of kids for yelling at the bus they were from cg. i also seen a groupe of adults from cg being childish. in the past i seen alot of goodsportsmanship from kids i coached little leagues for a longtime, the problem is most kids do as they see and a few bad apples can affect alot of small apples. was a great game. two great teams
