I really do not see why there is so much fuss about this game. I mean it is a D-I versus a D-IV. Logan is supposed to win! Let Logan go 10-0...odds are they will lose the first round of the playoffs anyway.

Smartguy,

As previously pointed out to you Logan is D-2. You ar three years behind. Kind of Like ironton's entire fotball program so i am guessing maybe yo coach there. Secondly you are 30 years behind. What ever happened to that Tiger pride that said they would play anyone anywhere?

Irregardless of youe ineptitude the Chiefs will roll Firday night. This game will not be close unless Lutz runs out the clock with the Chiefs up by 21. It would save him the embarrassment of giving up 50 points.

I have no dog in this fight. I will admit though I have always been a Ironton fan after my Golden Rockets. I would like to think not all Logan fans are like some of these guys on here. Still bitter from the days when Ironton dominated the SEOAL.Logan is on top now ,and everyone knows this .To the young men from Logan and the coaches I wish you luck on this year. I feel you have a legit shot at going deep in the Playoffs, maybe even winning it.Ill be pulling for you.I have met coach Amyx and I know he is not like these guys on here he has the upmost respect for coach Lutz and the Tigers.
I just hope for a injury free game so these two great programs can go on to their respective Divisions and represent S-E Ohio well.

Well said boilermaker. I think these are the two best teams in the SEOAL right now and both should make it to the play offs and do well. It certainly will be a great game to watch this week. Good luck to both teams and I hope you have an injury free game.

I've read a lot on here about the weather affecting the game. Maybe, but I'll say this from Logan's perspective- If you watch their games, most of their passing yardage is RAC yardage. With their spread, they put the ball out to the playmakers in the open field with short passes and they do their damage by outmanuevering the defenders. That is not going to change with a little bit of rain. May actually make the offense more dangerous if you don't have quick, athletic defenders to counter them. The rain can, however, slow down a running attack. That said, I hope we don't have rain Friday night. In addition to any effects it has on execution, a bad field can cause more injuries. By the way, Logan has too much for Ironton on this particular Friday night.

Ironton is playing Logan this friday night. I guess that is anyone anywhere. Since you Logan folks like to stay in the present, where is your tough schedule? Where is the Desales? They are begging for opponents. How about Watterson? Brookhaven?

Hamilton Township? Thats laughable. Picktown North? What, Central not available?

Go ahead and thump your chests boys. If you win the league again, you'll have plenty of time to admire the SEOAL trophy, while you are practicing basketball the second week of November.

Ill have fun again in Stark County again this year, watching teams you should have scheduled, instead of the cupcakes on your "pre season" schedule.

There you have it. I stayed in the present.

Hamilton is in a down year. They were respectable last year and are coached by a guy named Jacoby-maybe you've heard of him? We had to work them into the schedule to replace Athens, who bolted and left us in the lurch. We opened on the road against Lancaster, who just beat,uh, oh yeah, PICKERINGTON CENTRAL. Pick North is a big, tough opponent whose program is on the rise, They lost a close game Friday night to Groveport Madison, who is good by anybody's measure this year. See what Pick North's record is after week ten. And heck, we're playing you guys Friday night. We're not the ones tucking tale and running from the league. And next year, you can get on with your new life. Oh yeah, It's just Ashland!

85, It is guys like you that make this fun. it makes it fun to see the Ironton fans heading for their cars at the end of three quarters.

First of all your entire post is full of one thing. i know whay you are thinking and you are right...

Chieftain Envy.

Secondly, please NO ONE from ironton can ever say anything about anyone schedule. That team from Canada cancelled any creditbility ironton ever had.

Had your old AD not stuck you in this league that is too tough for you guys you would be whooping up on some team from Canada this week and You would never schedule a team as strong as Logan in 2009.

2old, why is it that u have to second-guess every one who puts a post on here... all they are doing is making opinions on what they think will make this a great game come Friday night.... Let Friday come, and let it be a great game. Don't waste your time coming on here talking about how you are going to watch a boring whooping of Ironton, because we all know the Tigers won't lay on their backs and play with a ball of string while u run up and down the field. So, as i stated, Let's talk about whats gonna make this a great game, instead of talking about how you think Logan can run away with it.

85 -

Logan has played DeSales in the past and I imagine they will again. They have a much easier time getting games in the 1st three weeks (before league play starts) and didn't have an opening when Logan did in the non-league schedule.

As for North, guess what.... We originally scheduled PICKERINGTON (before the split), when the schools split Picktown decided to have North play us instead of Central.

And, as Dazed said, look at the results, Lancaster (a team we beat by 3TDs) just beat Central on the field Friday night.

As for Hamilton Twp, that was actually a favor to Ironton. GAHS moved their game with you all to week 3 (from week 4) so that you could keep Ashland on the schedule. As a result GAHS replaced Athens on our schedule and we had a whole we had to fill in week 3 and not much time to fill it.

At the time, Township looked like they were on the rise with Jacoby at the helm. Obviously that hasn't panned out.

Poor, poor tiggers. Reduced to talking tough on a chatboard. Failure to get it done on the playing field and suffering from Chieftain Envy. Next bolting from the League you no longer can win -- in fact you haven't won it this century. After this week-end, you'll be able to add another score to your wall of shame--

35-10 ..........53-14............7-0............ ???????????

tiggers don't have the speed to match up with the Chiefs, don't have the athletes to stay with Logan and have a coach who is stuck back in another century. Today's game features SKILL, not brawn........... strategy not brute strength................ and speed not plodding Neanderthal ball.

Try to keep your fans from leaving early from the slaughter and supporting the team. Show your players that there are at least a few "sportsmen" left on the river. And for heavens sake, go buy a ticket & show up to support your team -- just because you are going to get whipped is no reason to stay home. Gate, Gate, Gate $$$$.

8-16....that's OK. Give Ironton their dues. I love history and Ironton has loads of it. Trouble is, the history I study is in books. I can go to Canton and see Red Grange, Johnny U and Jim Brown. Great stuff...really! What I can't do is go watch them play next Sunday. I CAN go to Ironton Friday night. May the best team win..THAT night.
