The Tigers can keep this game close if they can hold on to the ball and make some extra points, there kicking game must improve.

Actually, the 200's are long past history, but we had some kids who could really carry the stone back in the 200's. Why dont you guys like history? Being from Wellston, i can understand it and cheering for Logan, I can see it as well. I mean Logan football for years, was like wrestling as a 250 pounder in a 129 pound weight class. If you get pinned 13 or 14 times in a row, you certainly want to forget as soon as possible. However, if you win, it is great.

Oh how I long for the 200's again. Turkey, didnt you graduate back in the 200's?

85,

You are whinning already. Please wait until Friday. Or is this a leftover whine from Friday night. "just Ashland". Seriously the size card against how ironton is known for recruiting in the 1900's. i would not go there if i was from Ironton.

Your Chieftain Envy is showing. I agree with you on one thing. Wellston should not play Ironton in the 2000's or the 200's. But that does not change the record a certain Wellston tream has against the Tigers.

I remember the day i was recruited in the 1900's. My dad was promised a job at kresge's here in town. I didnt pan out and my scholly was pulled. I had to pay my own way, but I stuck it out. i just about got staph infection from that swimming pool locker room, i had to dress in, while at Logan. However i made it through. I was not fortunate enough to play football at Wellston, although i did almost fall off the stage out there one time.

Tell me more about this recruiting?

Ah fond memories of 1989 at Logan. i drove down with a few of my buddies from college. Hurricane Hugo was blowing through. it was probably Ironton's best ever recruiting class. Delandual Conwell ran wild on the Chef's that night. Ah, good times.

1982 at Logan. Playing for the coveted SEOAL title. I think we were up 35-0 at half. I think we dressed in a barn that night. No, come to think of it, it was the high school gym. We prized that SEOAL title. i think it sits right behind the 1979 State title and just left of the 1989 State title. Come to think of it, the SEOAL title may not even fit in the trophy case these days.

Is that why they haven't won anything lately? Don't wanna buy a new trophy case? It's full of trophies from last century?

actually not. I love Ironton. It is the high school I attended and i am thankful everyday, that I didnt have to search for a new high school to support. Talk about "Chef envy."

You guys keep talking about the "now," but are constantly bringing up the last 3 years. We havent played Logan this year.

Again, history sux, when you dont have any.

History doesn't suck no matter how great it is.

What you don't understand is that history isn't more valuable than the present. Just as the present isn't more valuable than history.

Ironton has to live in the past because their present isn't good enough.

Logan fans live in the present because the past isn't good enough.

The difference is, everyone from Logan will acknowledge Ironton's GREAT history. But all anyone from Ironton wants to talk about is their days in high school.

No one cares what you did when YOU were in school. Save that for your grandkids. They'll probably be glad to hear about Grandpas glory days.

We all know Logan is good. What is Ironton's strength ? Can they run it like Pick North ? I don't think Ironton can stop Logan's attack, so they will try to shorten the game running the ball & the clock. How much has Logan's defense improved since preseason ?

I have no problem with Ironton's present. Ironton continues to build on their success. Another playoff spot awaits Ironton this post season. However, you are right about our expectations. we expect to win every week. Will we? Obviously not. We lost last friday night and are heavy underdogs this friday night. However, I will concede that it is not and has not been fair for me to judege Logan's success.
I cannot expect Logan or its fans to expect something, they have never tasted. You will find, if you ever have any playoff success, that eventually that trophy you covet, will lose it's luster.

Ask any Ironton fan to name the years they won the SEOAL title, they can't do it. However, they can tell you what happened in 1973, 1979, 1982, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1993 and 1999.

I apologize for forcing expectations on Logan fans. However, please dont humiliate yourself by telling Ironton football fans what to expect. You just dont know. Maybe you will someday, but you just dont know.

If Angle does get hurt, do they have a ample enough of a backup to fill his shoes?

You got to remember, it is football and anything can happen. Look at Burg last year against Itown. Starting QB blows his ACL in the third qtr, but they just happened to have a Sophomore in Brandon Schankweiler that was able to come in and more than fill his shoes.

Does Logan have that backup that is able to withstand the pressure of this game?

I used to think you Logan people had some class, but the more I read on this thread from a few, you are totally full of crap. What have you got to show for all of those 10-0 seasons? Nothing. Has Logan even played in a State Championship game in any sport and when I say that I mean the big three in football, basketball and baseball. Hell, there are three of the riverrat teams down here that have played in a state title game in football in Ironton, Wheelersburg and Portsmouth West. How many has Logan been in again, I think I missed it somewhere. It doesn't matter what you do in the regular season, all that matters is those 5 games after the regular season. Win all of those and then you'll gain a little respect from the river teams.

Man, things must be rough for Lutz now. Came back to get the all time wins record, you guys schedule this Friday to be the day he gets it and BLAM you lose to Ashland and THEN your going to lose to Logan. Hes gonna be 2 weeks behind.
Losing to Ashland cannot help the psyche of the Ironton players knowing THIS week its the Logan Chieftains. If you cant beat a good KY team what makes you think you can beat a good Ohio team, right?

yabba, absolutly. For the playoffs? No, no replacement to make them advance in the playoffs. As far as the regular season schedule yes there are replacements. This team is very deep. They'd figure something out. My guess would be we'd see Mays playing some QB in running situations. This team doesnt need Angle to win the league.
