Ironton...........you do have a past, but so does every other team out there regardless of how....ummm, pathetic in your eyes I guess.............might be.

Move on. Like the earlier post, I can go to the hall of fame and see the greats of the NFL, but I ain't gonna see them play this Sunday.

I graduated from Logan and I wish there were state trophies to look at and polish and brag about, but there's not. Too bad, we move on and play the next season and practice and work hard to try and reach the best.

Kudos to Ironton for being a powerhouse in the past and I agree they brought alot of the luster to SE Ohio football and at one time they were the team to play with the big target on there back.

Now, other schools are becoming productive and they are starting to get the targets on there backs (i.e. Logan "non-postseason" success recently).

I guess that is where the Kentucky and Canada schools have to fill in? The lack of respect from everyone in SE Ohio not wanting to play BIG BAD IRONTON!!!!!!

Please..............

As far as the game goes.......

I see Coach Lutz grinding it out on the ground to consume the clock as much as possible. Also I believe Coach Lutz will bring alot of pressure to force Angle to throw early.

But Coach Amyx has went up against Lutz in the past and Angle and Co have put together some pretty good 2 Minute (or less) drills over the past couple of weeks.

Because Lutz does what he does, this stays close, but Logan just has enough to pull it through.

Logan 28
Ironton 14

Uhhhhhhhhh.......yeah............

I guess you dogging us (and pretty much everyone else) with not having the illustrious IRONTON history hasn't already brought this thought forward.

But since IRONTON has all the class, pathetic is "too harsh of a term". Let's say "less lucky" or "less productive"..........

With all due respect to those of you in Stark Co. Cincinnati is south of Columbus and I believe there a few championship contenders in that area as well. :122245

I'm looking forward to this game on friday night. I've seen both teams play and all I got to say is Ironton better bring their "A" game along with some hefty extra credit. Logan has proven to be the real deal so far this year. Ironton better put the pressure on Angle all night long or he is gonna DESTROY your defense. Logan has beaten some pretty good teams this year and they look to be the real deal. Ironton looked really sharp when I watched them beat an excellent Wheelersburg team in week one. Ironton better control the ground game friday if they want to pull the upset.

And the past means EVERYTHING when it's all you have.

If by present you mean today, we are 3-1. Ill take that. Currently in position for yet another post season berth. Post season is what Ironton is about. You seem confused by the past. We are current. We play for the post season. Ive been going to Stark County for 13 consecutive years. I have never head anyone ask another, did you win your league title?

Sure..you may have been to Stark County the last 13 years..but how's it feel losing in Stark County? Don't brag about going to Stark County when you can't win there...at least at the end of the day..there's still another trophy in our case.[/quote]

What the hell are you talking about? Ironton has more than doubled Logan's State Titles, and has been there several times. Are you telling me that you would rather win a league title than get to the State Championship game? If so you are smoking crack!

Just a few years ago Amanda finished third in it's league and won a State Title, I guess that team was a miserable failure!

And how many league teams does Logan play that are DII?

Now that being said, I think Logan can win big Friday night, but I guarantee you Ironton's boys will get more preperation for the playioffs than Logan playing down two divisions!

I'll take going to the State Championship game and losing once over a league title..ONCE for the experience...BUT..after the first experience...If your going to go to the State Championship game and lose..then hell yes..I'll take the league title..that way there's at least ONE trophy in the case from a great season!

dang, that took me an hour to read to get caught up. have not been on here since thursday. had i said what i felt friday, i'd probably gotten banned. but onto this week. i told you all the week before , we looked very ugly in a 39 -6 win at gallipolis. the fighting tigers were not focused the last 2 weeks. that dang well better change by this friday. or we are toast. i'm hoping the fighting tigers somehow looked past ashland last week, and can get back to playing the type of football we did the first 2 weeks. or this could be a long night.

with that said, i've seen the tigers had this happen to the fighting tigers before , then come back the following week. like world beaters. i'm hoping that irontron team shows up this week. i'm taking ironton this week, in an upset. and back on the road to the d4 playoffs.

I'll take a state runner-up trophy every time over a league title. Best out of eight or second out of 100 or 200 schools, depending on the sport.

Ironton always rises to the occasion in big games, I expect a fighting effort from them.

However, they have always struggled to defend the pass, which will be their doom this Friday.
