That's a pretty bold statement considering Meigs has only been NY three times in the last 20 years.

The last 20 games have nothing to do with this game. I just don't think NY has faced the caliber of competition that Meigs has and that will be the telling story this week.

Doesn't that qualify as good coaching if you keep the ball out of the hands of the opponents best athlete?

I just got word that I will be covering this game in Pomeroy ... is Cameron healthy and is he going to play Friday?

I know Meigs got beat up pretty good at Athens Friday; but playing in POMEROY is a completely different animal all together ... It will be cool to watch the No.1 and No. 2 rushers in the TVC-Ohio share the same field ... I'm looking forward to the trip down to the river and seeing those two cats run the football ... the top 10 rushing leaders through week 4 is uploaded on trivalleyconference.com (along with new Bloig entries) if anyone is interested in viewing the statistical comparisons between Meigs and NY ...

Why all the fuss? Everyone knows Meigs isn't even the "football school" of Meigs county let alone the Ohio division...

93 in a short conversation with Bolin's father as he exited the stadium Friday it was my understanding that the young man suffered a broken leg and would be out the rest of the season.

(AP), Coaches/Writer's Poll came out today and still no sign of N-Y in the top 20. Ironton with 1 loss is there, Logan, Zanesville, Logan Elm (1 loss), Jackson, Amanda-Clearcreek, Liberty Union(1 loss), Crooksville, Minford and even Monroe Central and Wheelersburg (1 loss) who are ranked below N-Y in the computer points in Region 19 are there. Now, that is statewide respect for those last two teams because they've proven it on the field in the playoffs the past few years. Yes, the computer polls matter most at the end of the year but that's precisely why a lot more of the higher seeded teams in the Southeast Regions get knocked off in the first round of the playoffs. Caliber of competition always rises to the top at year end. :122246

Go ahead, beat up all the patsies until week 8 (Yes, Alex won't be a game come week 7), play Athen's and maybe take a physical beating even if you win and then you'll be primed for week 9 at "The Tank" when Ironton will take out their frustration of losing to Logan in a big way on you. And by the way, you still might not make it into the (AP) coaches/writer's poll next week even when you beat Meigs this week.

I'm fine, just having a little fun. Those are not my "Tigers", I'm just a fan of SEO football in general. Most of my statements on here are backed by facts, articles or history. I've watched SEO football games off and on for the past 44 years (SEOAL, TVC, OVC, MSL, SVAC, SOC etc.). This includes tons of playoff games all over the state and most of the State finals the last 20 years or so. As a matter of fact I just received this years tickets, parking pass and program voucher in the mail the other day. I'd love to go this year and see Logan win DII, Logan Elm win DIII, Amanda or Ironton win DIV, Wheelersburg or N-Y win DV and well, I can't even put a DVI team even in the mix. With that being said, let's be realistic here. Until the Southern part of the state ups the ante and starts playing better teams out of conference to make them better for the playoff push, they will continue to be an early out in the playoffs every year. "To Beat The Best, You Have To Play The Best". :-D

FANOSPORTS!

This thread is about the upcoming meigs/NY game! It's not about how we are going to lose to Ironton or how no one in Ohio respects us. I don't really think any one really cares about the AP poll and we don't really care if any one respects us or not! You seem to be the only person who has a problem with Nelsonville-York! Your right we haven't made it past week 11 for a long time and we haven't won a state title in almost 30 years. The TVC isn't as good as some other leagues in the state of Ohio, but it's our league and we are proud to be in it. I am really really sorry that our boys aren't good enough for you. They work hard all year round and bust there butts on Friday nights!! That is what we care about. We are not Ironton or any other school in the state. We are Nelsonville-York!!!!!!. Our kids play football because they love the game not because they feel like they need to go out and earn respect from the rest of the state. No matter what you or any one else thinks we will still go out and support our team. Our boys will go out and give there all on friday nights.
Now can we get back to the meigs game already??????????

There seems to be a trend among the schools who consistently make their way into the state finals. These schools are either Parochial, of a high socioeconomic class, and most likely both.

In SEO, we are talking about poor, rural, primarily Caucasian, public schools.

NY has nice facilities, but that doesn't buy junior cleats, drive him to practice, or pay for his private expert instruction.

Sure can, Ok, Bolin is out so that's a big loss. Meigs has been very porous on defense this year but do have what I consider the best "passer" in the league this year in Jacob Well and along with Mr. Smith should be able to score some points. I here N-Y started out with a very young set of lineman this year and apparently they are getting better each week. Everyone knows about Mr. Arnold so enough said there. IMO, playing at Bob Roberts Field gives a couple points to Meigs so I'll make this prediction. N-Y 28 MEIGS 17. :-D
