Not so fast my fellow posters. Coach Saunders Ran the I- formation when he came to Gallia from Parkersburg South. He switched to the wing T after watching a state play-off game in Ohio. He liked all the aspects of this offense.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about gallia? or do you not like the coach? a certain player ? a assistant coach? I have read most of your post's on gallia and they are usually pretty negative These kids are trying they are not quitting they played hard in every game this year never letting up. They played to the last down as they will tonight They play the game with Heart and because of that they may not win every game but they will win some. some things are better left unsaid sometimes---------------

Mostly a light drizzle at times today in Jackson. No precipitation at all currently. Looks like we might be able to avoid most of the rain this evening.

Thank you, I will tell her. It is her 18th birthday today and I think the best one she has had. Stay home, stay dry, and get well.

Jackson Kruizes to a Victory. Nice throw and catch to put the Blue Devils away. What grade is Alllsion in? I hope he is a senior we cannot tackle him period.

Allison is a senior I think. Haven't been able to tackle him for two years. Gotta give credit to GAHS. They could have packed it in down 21-3, but as usual, they didn't. They fought Jackson until the end and almost got right back in the game.

GREAT WIN for the Ironmen. This is a huge rivalry game and it's never an easy "W" to get. I'm proud of the effort put forth by Jackson tonight. They were just NOT going to lose this game. Outstanding effort up front for Jackson on both sides of the ball. The boys up front are getting better and better each week.

Congrats to Kruize on playing a great game as well. Not the easiest situation for someone to be in. He was efficient once again, throwing for 1 TD and running for 2 TDs as well. You and the Ironmen are 5-0, Kruize!

Hope that Klay Arthur and Derrick Meredith are not too banged up. Both looked to have some pretty serious ankle injuries, but hopefully they will be back next week. Gallia had a few guys banged up as well, including Ethan Moore. Hope everything is ok with them as well.

5-0 Ironmen!!! Just keep winning!

I agree 02. When clay was in there we moved the ball at will. When he left we slowed down a little. But then again, Gallia has had a bunch of injuries. Always nice to beat the Blue Devils though.

Can't say enough on how proud I am for Gallia. You never gave up all night. When Moore was knocked out(he was knocked out cold, hope he will be OK))you all still gave it your best. We had 3 different QB's after Moore left the game (Allison,Eastman,Young)and we were moving the ball really good and the momentum was turning in our favor. But as it has been all season stupid penalties stopped us(movement). If and when we quit shooting ourself in the foot,we will win some ball games.

Also,I was surprized at the number of Gallipolis fans that made the trip to the game, for a winless team I thought there was just as much Gallipolis fans as there was for Jackson.

When gallia lines up under cdnter (1920s football) they struggle. When they line up spread, they start to have success...maybe these kids still have a spread philosophy. Hard fought game tonight for sure

It's hard to believe that the season is now at the half way point. I couldn't be happier with what the Ironmen have done so far this season. On the radio tonight, Coach Hall mentioned that if a pre-season poll had been taken around Jackson, there would probably have been very few people that would have predicted a 5-0 start for the Ironmen. This team has improved each and every week and I hope that they continue to do so.

The offensive line seems to really be coming together. Klingaman, B. Landrum, Gillum, Brushart, Kearns, and any of the other guys who have seen playing time are really doing an exceptional job, in my opinion. This group seems to be light years ahead of where they were during the scrimmages and that's a testament to the hard work that they're putting in. They've had some trouble with holding penalties and pass blocking, but those mistakes are definitely beginning to fade away.

In addition to the O-line, the corps of skill players for Jackson has been extremely efficient and productive. Wandling has stepped into the QB position and is doing an outstanding job. Arthur, Ervin, E. Landrum, and Meredith give Jackson a stable of backs that ALL can get the job done when needed. Hopefully Klay and Derrick can get healthy, along with Dewey Steppe, who I believe has been out with a shoulder injury. The receiving corps of Winchester, Haller, Johnson, and others has been quite impressive as well. Those guys have made a lot of big plays in the passing game and have added reliability to that dimension of the offense.

Defensively, there are countless guys contributing up front. Mapes, Barr, Harrison, Canter, Haller, Simon, Brushart, Steppe, and probably others that I just can't remember right now have been playing extremely well. They're playing well against the run and putting a tremendous amount of pressure on opposing QBs. Klingaman and Landrum have anchored the defense at linebacker. Those two guys are constantly flying around the field, making plays. Drew Ervin, Meredith, Winchester, Tyler Williams, and Garrett Ewing have also been outstanding defensively. The overall awareness of this group, along with their aggressiveness, has been a lot of fun to watch. Mullins, and Eisnaugle during Ryan's absence, have been a huge weapon in the kicking game. 5-0 would be 4-1 without Mullins' clutch kick last week at Portsmouth.

Coach Hall and his entire staff, along with the players themselves, should be commended for their efforts thus far. They're 5-for-5 so far, but the second half of the season will certainly provide some MAJOR challenges. The Ironmen need to continue to get better each week and keep playing hard. This team's goals CAN be achieved. Just keep winning!

Wandling sounds like he is making out to be a good QB this year.

Great win for the Ironmen. I must admit after watching the 'burg scrimmage that I thought 2-8 would be our best. The telling stat is that after five games we have ONE turnover. Would love to know what our turnover margin is.

Great crowd for a rainy night and our students were into the game. Also, hats off to the Gallia student section who was in it to the end.

Marietta next week, fans need to turn out and get loud. Starting to catch playoff fever!!!!

How many turnovers did Gallia have last night...3? Going into the game, I believe Jackson had 7 takeaways to only one turnover. The ratio is now 10 to 1, which is VERY impressive.

I only scanned over this thread but I couldn't help but notice all the "gurus" who continue to bash the coach at GAHS for running a wing-t offense. 1920's offense? Are you freaking kidding me? Get a clue! The folks at places like Minford, Wahama and East, just to name a few, sure haven't seemed to mind all the success their teams have experienced in recent years. Do some research and educate yourselves before spouting off and making yourselves look goofy.
