Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
Warren finally beat Marietta in what has become the biggest rivalry game of the season. The Warriors are 4-0 for the first time in a long, long time. Now it's time to keep getting better and keep taking care of business. Point Pleasant, WV will be visiting this Saturday evening with hopes of being the first to beat Warren this season.

Re: WK5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
I just read where PP beat South Pt. 35-0. I don't know much about SP, but PP is 3-1 now, I believe. They have two Roberts Kids who are good, a pretty decent defense, and an offense that can score some points. They don't have Wasonga, (WHEW!!), but they can move the ball. This game will be a bigger test than any of the previous 4 games we've had, in my opinion, so we need to remember, think of this game as if this is the last game of the season and everything is on the line, play hard, play fair, and may the Football Gods be with us.

Re: WK5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
I just Googled a bit and Point Pleasant is 2-1, having had a bye last week. They have defeated Tug Valley and South Point, both are which are now (I'm pretty sure) 0-4. Point was beaten by Sissonville, who I believe is now 3-0 and ranked in the top 5 in WV AA football.
Looks like Point will be another good test.

In 2002, we have a 31-14 win for Point not 33. Joeeitel.com has the same thing. Not sure which one is correct.

You're probably right - I remember getting scores for those years from a yearbook. I'll try to look sometime if I get a chance this week.

The point IS... two people are haggling over a 2 point difference on a game played almost ten years ago. BTW, it was 9:59 by my watch.

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
According to the WHS web schedule guess what? There is a girls home soccer game scheduled for 5:30 saturday. We do have a lighted soccer field, but you may want to come just a tad early to get parking close. Is this game snake bit or what. Now the schedule could be wrong, but anyone want to take odds?
So back to the game. Warren is now 4-0 and it has to be the Mike Devol years the last time Warren was 4-0 maybe 95,96 need to do some research there. Can the kids make it 5-0? Yes. Can they be 4-1? Yes. It has been said before, take one game at a time, respect all, for the first time in a long time Warren is wearing the target of the team to beat in a game. This is untested waters for the Warriors, hope the coaches can keep the team grounded, let them enjoy the win until practice starts Monday, then focus on Point like it the most important game of the season, because it is. This week.
Warren 28-14.

No one is arguing. We have been trying to collect a history of Warren football, and we need the info we get to be correct.

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
Just curious here...not bashing at all...just curious!?!
Why change the already successful punt-return combo.?. #1 & #10 have returned the ball well in the previous 3 games but the addition of a 3rd deep-back obviously caused confusion and hesitation which led to potential turnovers...No offense intended toward #27 at all, as he is more than capable, just choose 2 and leave it... maybe the third well ahead of the deep 2 to fair-catch really bad punts and take out the first potential tacker on deep kicks!
Special Teams is an area where mistakes can lead to upsets! We have been lucky so far to survive having a kick off returned for TD, fumble on kick-offs, muffed punts... Coach 'em up boys!!! Specials was supposed to be a strength of ours, we have the athletes for them to be!!!
Get better today Warriors!
You are only as good as you are tomorrow!
(Tomorrow being Saturday evening!!!)
GO Blue!

Just learned today that the soccer game has been moved to an earlier time. I think it will now be played at 11:00a.

GO WARRIORS!
Take it to the out of staters!
Point has a nice program and will come ready to play. They were always tough when they were in the SEOAL. Nice test for Warren.
