Maybe we should squib kick the ball every time, a good knuckle ball might be the ticket, make-em chase it around.. And the Mike Devol turn your back fakie fakie kick off return should stay under the bed with the dust bunnies.

Was it true that PP didnt even want to play this game once they heard warren was winning again? That is a sad way to run a program in my opinion.

Wow, really? Who made up that lie? It had nothing to do with Warren winning games. Warren needed this game on a Saturday and did not ask our school until just a few weeks ago. It had zero to do with their record, cancelling the game was NEVER mentioned.

Our coach has done an excellent job getting our kids and community excited about football again. There is nothing "poor" about the way he has run this program.

Yeah, I never heard anything about PP canceling. There was a mix-up on the scheduling due to the Barlow Fair, but that's it. Warren hadn't had a home game scheduled on a Barlow Fair weekend for a few years and, therefore, the fair had not been considered when the original contract was signed. All that matters is the fact that the game is re-scheduled for Saturday when the Barlow Fair parade is NOT happening.

I can guarantee that the Warren players are not overlooking PP. On Saturday morning they were already talking about getting ready to play Point. They know Point is coming off a big win, they know Point has talent, they know Point would love to knock off a 4-0 team.

The Warriors will be ready.

I thought for sure we played Meigs last year on a Sat. @ home. I distinctly remember watching the Barlow parade which is always on a friday...and I wouldn't miss a game to watch the parade.

What do some of they Point Pleasant fans think? It doesn't seem like Point Pleasant throws the ball much? Point hasn't gave up many points this year, Warren may have a challenge against their defense. As well with Point I doubt they have seen a defense as good as Warren's yet this year. Warren held one of the area's best runners to 31 yards last week.

It's hard to classify this Point team in terms of victories.

They destroyed South Point, an OVC team who played Portsmouth very close in week one, but is also 0-4 in one of southern Ohio's weakest football conferences. Strangely Portsmouth got 68 put on them by Wheelersburg in a loss, then loses a nail biter to Jackson.

In trying to get a handle on this I can only conclude that Portsmouth is wildly inconsistent, and not a great team. Jackson while undefeated, is also not top notch if they can barely squeak by Portsmouth, and Point Pleasant is a good team, but is very beatable.

Of course my circuitous logic means nothing.

It is hard to classify the excitement that surrounds the football team right now. The momentum really began a few years ago. Like I have said before, the players, coaches, and parents have all put in long hours of work to get to this point.

It sure makes me feel good when young people are rewarded for hard work. Keep up the pace boys. It will only get tougher. You have another level to reach and you can do it.

Team...........Team.............Team...............= win.....win.....win...

I forgot that we did, in fact I still can't remember it specifically . . . I'm getting old.

Anyhoo, I'll take your word for it. As hard as it is to grasp, I guess Pifer just plain ol' forgot about the biggest annual event in the greater metropolitan Barlow area!

Looks like the Warriors came away from the Marietta win pretty healthy, we have been fortunate in that (knock on wood) regard....Pt Pleasant is somewhat of an unknown, both their lopsided wins came against not very good teams, and their loss was to a pretty good Sissonville team, a smaller school in WV near Charleston....Point starts a sophomore quarterback, they don't pass much, have a pretty good tailback....we've been good against the run, must average giving up less than 50 yards per game on the ground.....and if they pass, well no one has had success yet......so on paper Warren should win, I will say by 21....I don't think there's a chance we overlook anyone.....LETS KEEP THE MOMENTUM ROLLIN'....I HOPE THE FAIRGROUNDS WILL EMPTY OUT FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS SATURDAY NITE!!

Heard tonight the Point-Warren freshmen game was canceled because Warren doesn't have a freshman quarterback? Anyone know if it's canceled for sure?

I thought Warren only had a JV team. Do they have a Freshmen team as well? If they do, there's no backup?

Warren does not have quite enough freshman to field a full freshman team. So they are only playing JV games but are using lots of freshman in the JV....yes the JV QB, who happens to be a freshman, is hobbled for about another 7-10 days....but we had a soph run the QB position Monday night at Marietta and did OK, threw 2 TD passes, Warren won 21-8....

The JV team has played Trimble, Belpre, Morgan and Marietta. Despite starting a number of Freshman players, the team is 4-0 and has not really been challenged . . . yet. They defeated Marietta this week by a 21-8 score. Leffingwell (FR) is usually the starting JV QB, but he has a tweaked ankle. Windland (SO) started at QB against Marietta and did just fine. As has been mentioned already, he threw 2 TDs in that game.

I've heard good things about the Leffingwell boy, from what I understand he is Warren's quarterback of the future with a great career ahead of him. What are his stats thus far?? Good to see the JV having a great year also, got some good talent moving in next year. The Warren program is finally heading in the right direction.

I was told that the junior high has yet to score a point this season. I also hear they are good-sized kids, but are having trouble scoring touchdowns. Tough schedule?
