Re: Ironton's Opponents, Past And Future 2009
Ironton's remaining opponents are now 22 - 2 and average out to a DIII team with a 97% win average. All Ironton's opponents are now 44 - 17 which carries a 72% win and average out as a D3.3 team.
It's a very healthy schedule that the Tigers are playing this year.

NO way is Ironton even thinking about Nelsonville York. We gotta handle Jackson first. Then we will consider the nelsonville your sitch. You are really in for a wake up call. BUT i forgot you play athens first... I really hope NY can get in at 8-2... Doesnt appear so.. You have to beat us both to even come close...

I don't ever remember Athens being 6-0!!!!!

I am so proud of them though!! I have a nephew who is a sophomore on the team. They expect to win every week, they are hard nosed, fast, they gotta real good team!!!!!
They have the best line in SEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of people are starting to bring up Athens size now that they are winning but they are good for the TVC and the TVC is good for them!

The best team in SEO is Logan, but the best line resides in Ironton...

Now, now. You begged in your 1st post for Logan fans to stay off of your thread... now you need to stay off of them. Do you really expect them not to respond to that if they were not banned from doing so?

I have to agree with Spanky on this one. Ashland will have to play Fort Thomas before finals and they arent beatting them. Logan will have many severe roadblocks just to get out of their region, let alone claim a state title. I wish both schools well, but cant see it. likewise for Burg. if they cant defeat Minford, I doubt they will defeat the likes of Coldwater.
Re: Ironton's Opponents, Past And Future 2009
Here's what I see with Ironton's schedule:
1. MUST beat Portsmouth
2. MUST beat Jackson and/or Warren
3. MUST beat N-Y
1. The P-town game is huge b/c they sit 1 place behind Ironton in the region
2. Jackson and/or Warren would garner HUGE 2nd level points for Ironton
2A. #1 combined with wins over Jackson AND Warren would all but assure Ironton of a home game.
3. N-Y is a must win, especially if Ironton drops the Jackson game.
Go 2-2 the rest of the way, and the playoffs are in doubt (depending on who the 2 wins are against). Go 3-1, a home game is very likely. Go 4-0, the #2 seed in the region is within reach.

Re: Ironton's Opponents, Past And Future 2009
fbf: very good assessment of what the Fighting Tigers need to end the season. I look at it from a different perspective, if Coach Lutz breaks the record for most wins in the state the Tigers are in and anything less means they may need some help. I would be tickled sh!!tless to see him break the record but I would also like to see the Fighting Tigers in a post-season contest.
Guess you could say I want my cake and eat it also....

The Fighting Tigers Remaining Opponents are now 17 & 4! that's an 81% win percent!
All of Ironton's opponents together are now 48 - 23 with a 68% win percent. 12 of those 23 loses are by 2 schools.
