I believe that PP was a "AAA" (DI Ohio)playoff team last season. Did they drop to "AA" (DII Ohio)this year? As to the rest of the stuff up there. Ugh. Lets let the game speak for its self. Meigs will bring their best game and hope the Warriors do the same. On paper it should be the Warriors. But paper does not play the game. So giving Meigs its due. Warren 32 Meigs 14. Play Fair, Play Hard, Play Safe

warren will probably win this one, they're having a good year. they are in a similar situation with athens, where they are trying to rebuild their programs from recent obscurity for the most part, hence the easyish scheduling. in another couple years warren's schedule will probably improve and hopefully so will athens'. i know that thats somewhat off topic but i just wanted to make a point about scheduling. i think they'll lose to ironton as well as logan, but good luck to the rebuilding teams of SEO

i think meigs' lack of defense so far has been more attitude than ability

Week after week I read how Warren has such a weak schedule. Week after week I say nothing but I'm actually pretty disgusted so here is my 2 cents worth, this is all you get.

Warren goes to belpre and blows them out 56-0. Belpre is having a horrible season and I feel so bad for those boys they need a win desperately and I root for them 9 games out of the year. But come on it's Warren vs. Belpre...it has always been that way and no one is going to change it.

Warren then goes to Morgan and again blows them out 43-0. Coming into this game everyone said that Morgan was a decent team and it would be a big test for the warriors. Heck marietta even played them and no one said a word about their scheduling. Anyways, no one complained about that game until after it was decided.

Warren goes to South, again, why not? Against Bolen the old coach makes for some great drama and ticket sales. Plus South was ranked #1 in WV by some preseason and is AAA. Good measuring game for warren.

Warren vs. Marietta. Yeah marietta is having a down year but they are still warren's biggest rivalry and its a league game, play em.

Warren vs. Point pleasant. PP used to be in the SEOAL and they are usually a pretty legit team in WV. AA and a physical team seemed to be a good test again.

Meigs. usually has a solid team in TVC, playoffs last year and a historically decent football school.

Then portsmouth, logan, chilli, and ironton, arguably one of the toughest in conference schedules in the SEOAL.

I think that the schedule has played out perfectly. Each week this warren team has been pushed a little more and a little more and they still have come up on top. The first part of the schedule is no doubt preparing them for the last 5 games of the season, the "home stretch". Warren needs a winning season desperately. Everything has been put into place perfectly, all that needs to be done now is to fill in the columns with W's.

Ok as for Meigs, their halfback #3 and TE #81 are no doubt playmakers on offense. If the defense can shut down those 2 players I think they have a great shot at this game. Take everything 1 week at a time and Warren will be 6-0 come friday night. Believe in yourselves Warren. GO BLUE

What I want to know is, in the picture that the Marietta Times ran yesterday, I know who #6 is, but who was that #58? It looks like #6 is rolling out getting ready to pass the ball, and #58 is out there too. It looks like #58 has pulled from the line and is making a good block. I've seen #6 out there before, but I've never really noticed that #58 out there like that. Who was that making that nice block?

Meigs is 1-4, but have played a tough schedule to say the least. Last week built some confidence. I say they get it done, but I like people from Warren and always have so good luck. Truly classy people.

There is so much talk about weak scheduling but I am not sure people realize how hard it is to schedule games. You don't just look at the current season, you have to look down the road a ways and some times you catch em on the way up and sometimes you catch em on the way down. AD's try to schedule the best teams they can within the distance they are willing to travel. Warren has gone out and played there schedule and thus far are 5-0!!! They deserve some respect for that!

I still hold the opinion that Warren beat a pretty good team in Parkersburg South and beat a tough P.Pleasant team last week handily. Parkersburg South might be 2-3, but the 3 teams they have lost to are 15-0. The boys learned how to win a close game against P. South which will benefit them greatly later on their schedule. Meigs is a pass first team and this plays right into the hands of Warren's greatest defensive strength. Warren's best athletes are in the secondary and they have made big plays all year with 11 interceptions and a few touchdowns this may spell trouble for Meigs quarterback. Warren is also bringing one of the leading offenses in the SEOAL to Pomeroy Friday night which will be a major problem for a team that has struggled on defense all year. I'm thinking Warren should be favored by 2-3 scores.

Meigs 14

The game I wish was on the schedule this year is Warren vs. Athens. I think these teams mirror each other in a lot of ways and would be one heck of a game. High powered offensive's and stingy defense's.

I used to love seeing Meigs stadium. Is it still the one right downtown, nestled back in the trees?
Pretty interesting setup near the old Pomeroy high school.

Hey No one would like to see Meigs win anymore than myself, but the way I see it
until the line play of Meigs improves and they slow down the off tackle plays any team they play will keep running a ball control game. which spells....
Warren------ by two touchdowns over Meigs. Also if it rains like the forecast is
saying Warren's ball control game will keep Meigs O off the field. Not Good for
the home team.

Come on Meigs prove me wrong.

This will be an extremely hard game for Meigs to win. But we are playing at home, and are hopefully fully adjusted to the new offense.

So many things are different this season. For example, last year the players had very limited film time and scouting/game strategy was just not very sophisticated. This week the Warren players have been watching Meigs film for hours (several watch for at least an hour a day). On Monday they had the scouting reports for both offense and defense in hand with the anticipated adjustments/game plan for both sides of the ball. Every week they run a legitimate scout team offense.

Word is they have had really good practices this week and are not taking a single thing for granted. It's not really been mentioned, but against Point Pleasant two starting tackles were out, Lane and Greathouse. Lane is back in practice and Greathouse will be back for Portsmouth. Other than that, everyone is healthy and getting healthier.

The Warriors will be ready on Friday.

I am excited for this team. They have made it passed the early tests, and are now into the meat of the schedule. Glory is there for the taking, all they have to do is rise up and take it. I think everyone in Vincent is hungry for a playoff game, and this group has a chance to put themselves at the top of a short list of great Warren football teams.

Its a 5 game playoff run starting this week.
