warren may have won but it was not by as many as they wanted like we have read here for a week. they left the field knowing they could've lost and not by much where they better. again meigs could've won. they are truely 4-5 plays from 5-1. i have never seen such a snake bit team. don't hang your heads boys. you represent meigs in a great fashion. nothing but respect from home!

Wow! I wish I could have seen this one, congrats to the Warriors on your sixth victory of the year. And to the kids and fans at Meigs I can only keep you heads up you have been there right to the last play in all but one of your loses this season, and with the teams you've lost to that is still rather impressive. Good luck to both schools in the stretch run, stay healthy and play hard good thing will follow.

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a break! What a game. It's my wife's anniversary today, OH, and mine, too.........!!! These kind of games make you lose hair faster. 27-26 in double OT. I have to say, Meigs had a great game plan and just about put us down, but the Football Gods were with us. Congrats Warren!!!!! 6-0 has a sweet ring to it.

Quite a night of football in Meigs County. I had the pleasure of sitting on the hill on a blanket and taking in a thriller!!!!! The weather was perfect, it was close to a full moon, and the WARRIORS got it done !!!!
Like I have said in other posts, it warms my heart when good things happen to young people who put in hard work and dedicate themselves to a team.
I do not know all of the football players as well as I do the basketball players, but when I watch the sidelines, I see young people pulling together. I see organization, I see players picking players up, I see many sophmores contributing, and I see some great senior leadership. It is team, team, team, all the way!!!
Practice hard this week boys. Rise up to the challenge and go to Portsmouth and take care of business !!!!! We are proud of you!!!

Wow, that was the closest game you could imagine. The Warrior fans were on their feet most of the game. I do have to say the officiating in the first half was ridiculous. And the officials letting the kicker roll the ball in the wet grass and then put it on the tee and kick it, was just plain wrong. The spotting in the first half was also horrible. Never before have I seen someone go about 7 inches past the line of scrimmage on 4th and 1, and the ball be spotted two yards behind the line of scrimmage. I’m not saying we picked up the first down, but come on. This is nothing towards Meigs team they played there heart out and had some tough calls against them also. The holding call on 4th down was devastating to them, and gave us the opportunity to score. Anyways I guess you will have bad calls and spots in a game but the second half was much better. I never doubted this would be a close game and no matter the outcome Meigs should be proud of their team. They held a high scoring offence to 14 points during the game. There defense shut down our run and kept pressure on our QB all night. 1 play the other way and they could of easily walked away with the win. Keep your heads held high you deserve a lot of respect.
Now for the Warriors, WOW 6-0. Next week will be a huge test for us at Portsmouth and we need to get off to a better start. But I believe in this team and I know they can do it. They just need to work hard and play there best. I know the Warrior faithful will be there supporting them 100%. LETS GO BIG BLUE

My first game I seen this year and it was a great one! Warren looked bad, but i thought meigs played good enough to win. by the way, why was the officials allowing the meigs kicker to roll the ball on the wet grass before he kicked off? Totally uncalled for.

That is what we thought. If they didn’t want to call a penalty on it, the least they could have done was go over and wipe the ball off. He was told that he wasn’t allowed to do that again. But it should have never been allowed to happen in the first place. The ball was already wet and hard enough to keep a hold of. Perfect evidence of this was the fumble on the opening kickoff. I don’t think they needed to roll it in the grass to make it slipperier. The ball was dropped on that kick off, we were just lucky enough to recover it.
Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
Def. a thriller but I must say, of all the games the warriors have played, that was the one they have come out the flattest. No emotion at all. No excitement. No enthusiasm. If the Warriors want to finish the last 4 games with wins they better pick it up cause Portsmouth, Logan, Chilli, and Ironton will no doubt be ready.

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
First, congrats to Meigs on a hard fought game. We knew they were tough because of the game they played against Nelsonville. They got Warren down early, then took it to them all night and just about pulled off the upset. The Meigs line was not as big as Warren's, but they won the night, hands down.
As you rack-up wins during a season like this you worry about games like this game. Warren came in flat, some of the kids didn't even sprint onto the field when they entered the stadium for the start of the game. That's pretty unusual for our guys. The players walked around all evening, onto the field, off the field, you just thought . . . "Yikes, these kids are not with it tonight." Even though everyone kept saying the right things, I know that the Warren players thought they were going to win this game before the first whistle blew. After the muffed kick-off return and score by Meigs I thought it was going to be interesting. Then after the second score by Meigs, I looked at the person next to me and said, "This is one of those games that can get you." Meigs has talent and they were fired-up. Warren was staggering along. But (and this is a really, really big "But") the Warriors found a way to win. Playing at Meigs, on a night where they were getting shoved around, and when things just didn't seem to be going their way, they WON. That's HUGE for our program. It was a team effort, but I have to say that in the second half the seniors did what seniors are suppose to do . . . they made plays.
Now, hopefully that "game" is out of the way. The Warriors will not be favored to win the next four games. Yeah, the team is 6-0, but it's still "just Warren." Portsmouth, Logan, Chillicothe & Ironton. Each of these teams will believe they can beat Warren, and each of these teams has the talent to back that belief up.
Now the Warriors play their SEOAL schedule. It's time to get the attitudes adjusted and prepare to show that this team is for real.

warrnwarriorfan. This is the kind of post that should make all of the Warren fans and supporters proud. It was a post neither degrading either team, but telling it like is was. I will be watching your team for the rest of your season, and pulling for you to go 10-0, and making a strong run into the playoff's. Again thanks for showing a lot of class and sportsmanship in your post. So often when two teams meet, the posters get so out of line with each other, it is not fun to read. Good Luck, a Olde Vinton County Viking..........

Meigs came out with a great game plan and played passionate football. They deserved to win that game but Warren, even though uninspired, did not roll over and die.

Glad you think so....Warren finishes 8-2 or 9-1...mark it down, and still misses the playoffs
