They need a running back/linebacker Tobias........Maybe you can get into shape by next spring.......Whip that 40 something year old body back into what it once was and show those young whipper-snappers a thing about 80's football........

This sounds kinda cool!

i look forward to it!

Seems odd that the North Eastern Kentucky Warriors, call Portsmouth Ohio home. I would have just called them the Portsmouth Spartans, but then I saw a team in the league already was called the Spartans. Maybe bring back the Portsmouth Shoe Steels name, to pay homage to our football, and industrially past.
I find it odd that they have no Ohio players on the team. Why would they wait till now to announce the try outs? Seems like they would get a better turnout if they held them later in the year. This way they could attract graduating high school seniors, that are not playing college ball, graduating college players, and give old timers a chance to get back in shape.

A great addition could be Aaron Pettrey. A local kid from Raceland, he could be looking for something to do after his career at OSU is over this winter.....Then again, his sights should be set a little higher given his talent at the kicking position............I like Ohio River Gamblers. If they are going to host using Spartan Stadium, there should be an Ohio flavor in the name.......

Agreed, if Margaret was his momma, she was one of the nicest people in Portsmouth.
Attendance at the Charleston and Huntington teams is not that great and generally the games are in the spring and summer when there is not a lot of competition from other sports. Seems like football is a cold weather sport.
I have filmed for both teams and they do play some serious football.
This type of football is for those who can't get it out of their system and play for their own satisfaction. Probably not much money to be made.

it's kind of one of those things like the New York Giants or Jets. They have New York in the name, but play over in New Jersey.

great idea there are some players from all the area schools. there are a few playing on the c-k team who would love to play in ohio. there are a couple linmen that are not playing college now that were in the north south game the past couple years.
