SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
Re: SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
FYI
Just heard from a reliable source this game has been canceled for tonight and re-scheduled for Saturday night. Must have thought too big a game to be played in a monsoon.
I will try to verify and post an update.

If its that bad, great idea! The safety of all the kids is the most important thing. Big game for both schools, and it rained real hard here in south Minford this morning.

Yes, its true. I called the high school. Said the game will be played tomorrow night at 7:30 due to the weather...

There will be a huge crowd as many in the area have always wanted a Saturday night showcase game.

In this particular case I did the deleting. I deleted several posts ranging from firing certain school officials, to getting a lawyer and taking them to court, to recruiting, and a host of other "rumors" and "innuendos" that have absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming game.
You have questions ? PM me.

Speaking of "wanna be"........ if you still "wanna be" on here after the game tomorrow, I suggest you chill out and learn a little respect.

Is this the only game not being played? There is other big games tonight, are they still on?

Re: SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
Great place to watch a football game and 2 good teams on Saturday night.
Re: SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
Why are we cancelling football games for rain? Lightning is one thing, but you play in rain. Now if they think severe storms (lightning) are coming, I can understand that. West doesn't have another home game and wouldn't need the field unless they play a home playoff game.
If its to get a big gate, then that's bull too. I hope the AD for West had input from the coaches.

This is a suprise. Unless there is flooding in the area and it could be dagerous.
Re: SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
The weather forcast is calling for rain with thunder storms and winds up to 35 mph.
Re: SOC2 Minford (5-1) @ Portsmouth West (5-1)
So if it's weather is Portsmouth cancelling? Their field is 3 or 4 miles away at most.
What I don't understand is football wise, a sloppy field helps West. We have big backs and like to go straight ahead. Minford is more finesse. I don't think West needs that to win, but if it helps great. That's why you play HOME games. For advantages and to win. Not to make money. Win the rest of your games and get a home playoff game. Make money on that.

I called and talk to the AD at Minford he said because of the expected Lightening storms there would be alot of delays.
