With the schedule and returning a few quick weapons many thought that type of season was a slight possibility. High expectations are a good thing, especially coming off of the past few seasons. People want to believe that they have got a program in place that can rebuild after each season and not just fall apart. That's very hard to do at the small school level. The reality is this....

The Tartans lost one of their best players before week 1 in Z. Rawlins. He would have been one of the better defensive players in the SOC and losing a player of his caliber is a huge loss for a small school that was thin to begin with.

What many of you seem quick to forget is exactly how many good players the Tartans lost from last season. They lost three All State players in C. Mault, J. Howard, and Hoover. In addition to that they lost some guys who were three and four starters with numerous district and SOC accolades in N. Hood, A. Jones, and possibly a few others who I'm forgetting. The Tartans lost some extremely good players and some "glue" guys as you can see.

Playing at Symmes Valley this week will certainly be a challenge. I doubt the Vikings shut the Tartans out. The Vikings have beat one team with a winning record in Southern, who hasn't beat a team with a winning record. These two teams have played two common opponents (three if you count East's scrimmage vs. Southern) and the margins have been similar. I seriously believe that East would be 5-1 had they played Symmes schedule thus far as well. These two teams appear pretty even to me. The game being at SV will be a big factor. I expect a close ball game won by the team with fewer turnovers.

hahahaha same ol east fans, you could beat em by 40 and they keep on runin their mouth. obviously east flat out plays horrible. and the junk they pulled on our turf?? hah nice move tartans.... the SOC is ours n will be nxt year to. and syms will get theirs to, they are probably the dirtiest team i played last year, they'll get theirs nxt week to so no worries.

tartantrue, you ridicule your name and discredit your posts when you make statements like you made about the Hall's. I certainly hope you aren't a player on this years team and last, but it sounds as if you may be. The Tartans have been fortunate to be led by the likes of the Hall's and D. Davis, let's not muddle this conversation with what has already happened.

O_town_animal, your useless babble doesn't even warrant a response.

I think all the past and recent coaches at East has brought something different to the program and i don't think u could say Hall, Davis or Bond are bad coaches because they are not.... They all have different coaching styles that helped the Tartans Win..and Hall was and excellent coach and i don't think you could say he was a bad coach for players not getting to hit in practice...but that's just my opinion

This match-up will be a dead even one. This one will come down to who makes the big plays and has the least amount of turnovers and mistakes

East-21
SV-20

Last time I checked outside, it was starting to clear up a bit and felt hot. It could have been the jacket I had on though. How the weather looking around Willow Wood right now?

Sunny and dry all afternoon so far. Field may still be a little wet though.

Good Luck Vikings. Keep the attitude positive and give it your all.
