SE District tournament seeds
SE District tournament seeds
So it is that time of year again. The seeding meeting should be in the next week or so I assume.
Anyone care to take a stab at predicting where the seeds for the sections and District will fall?
A list of sections and their teams can be found here:

Re: SE District tournament seeds
I would say looking at the records LE 8, cville 7, WCH 6, Hillsboro and MT 4 & 5, then 1 2 and 3 depends on who votes for who and strength of schedule. Should be easier to sort out after Thursday.
Re: SE District tournament seeds
I copied these from another post and tried to put them in order by the 2 pt for a win and 1 pt for a tie. So if these are correct (and many can't be up to date) then this should be about how the seedings will line up. I am assumine Top seed plays bottom and so on, and in the case of odd number of teams top team gets a bye on the first round. Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: SE District tournament seeds
Athens has remaining games with both Marietta and Warren. Not sure when or how the seeding is done, but as of now, looks like possibly Marietta and Warren in one District grouping with Chillicothe and Athens in the other. Its hard to imagine that the District Champion won't come from one of these four teams.
This is the time of year when you hope some team really starts to have all the pieces come together and separates from the others. More likely, the better teams bunch closeer together and, (man, this the bad thing about tornament play), the District Champ is decided by a shoot-out.

Re: SE District tournament seeds
Not sure how the brackets work out, but I'd hope that the South is split enough that the top teams can get away from each other, the South is clearly strongest.
Division II North - I'd guess the following order of seeds
Lancaster Fairfield Union
Chillicothe Zane Trace
Greenfield McClain
Hillsboro
Washington Court House
Circleville
Washington Court House Miami Trace
Logan Elm
South seeds- I'd guess the following order of seeds
Chillicothe
Athens
Marietta
Vincent Warren
Chillicothe Unioto
Waverly
Gallia Academy
Jackson
DII East District - I'd guess
Coshocton
Warsaw Riverview
Dover
New Concord John Glenn
Millersburg West Holmes
Zanesville
New Philadelphia
Zanesville Maysville

Re: SE District tournament seeds
South Point is going to play in the girls instead of the boys sectional. Should be interesting to see just how good the girls actually are.

Are they co-ed?
Unless they remove all boys from the team, they cannot play in the girls bracket.
Your statement also implies that they have been playing in the boys division (which really means anywhere from 1-all the players are boys) so far. Otherwise, they wouldn't choose to play in the girls sectional. I'm not sure a team can change from boys to girls or vice versa once you have played a mathc in it.
It's very interesting, care to add some bacground?

You would seed Marietta #3 behind Chillicothe and Athens, even though Marietta is currently unbeaten, has a win over Chillicothe and a tie with Athens? The game between Marietta and Warren on Thursda night, and Marietta and Athens Saturday night will go a long way in determining the seeding.

All I know is they are approved to take the girls only (of course) and play their first game in the girls sectionals. I guess they have a enough girls to make a team and this was what was voted on by the team. There are a few senior girls who really wanted this and since the coed team is doing so poorly I guess the boys are all for it as well. I think it is a great idea and look forward to see how it all turns out. I think at the seeding meeting they will probably be the worst seed since noone has seen them play so they will probably be playing the number one.
Should be interesting.

U r right, bad copy and paste
marietta should have been higher
Re: SE District tournament seeds
It will be an interesting meeting to say the least. The games today and saturday will seriuosly effect the seedings. At this time, if you use the score each team received on the ossca web site to seed the teams it would be
marrietta 1st .9529
Chillicothe 2nd .9429
Athens 3rd .8657
If you look at scores against common opponents
Chillicothe in 6 league games has outscored their opponents 38-5 (6-0)
Marrietta in 6 league games has outscored their opponents 19-4 (5-0-1)
Athens lost to Warren and tied chillicothe and marrietta.
If chillicothe beats jackson and Watterson and marrietta lose to either athens or warren. It will be an intense meeting to decide who gets seeded where.
Yes i know there are a lot of if in the mix including if the chillicothe marrietta game in chilli had been played what would have happened

Re: SE District tournament seeds
It should be an interesting end of the week with the seeding meeting on Sunday.
Marietta's games with Warren and Athens will decide quite a bit. Marietta's only main blemish is a tie with Jackson. Marietta has the most to win and the most to lose it looks like coming into the seeding meeting. Can Marietta enter the seeding meeting undefeated?
If they can, they're the number one seed, if they don't win both of the games, then it becomes complicated and depending on the results could drop down a spot or two. Chillicothe's one loss is to Marietta, so in the head to head for a spot in #1-4 seeds, this would put Marietta in front of them. However, this could change depending on Marietta's upcoming game.
Athens has lost to one southeast team, which is Warren (the other loss was to DI Dublin Scioto), but has a better overall record than Warren. Athens has tied with Marietta and Chillicothe. If Athens were to beat Marietta on Saturday, then that could move them above Marietta. Warren has a good team, but has struggled in their biggest match-ups with Chillicothe (7-2 loss) and a loss in the first match-up with Marietta.
Here's something to debate: Is it safe to say that Athens, Chillicothe, Marietta, and Warren (in alphabetical order) are the top four seeds already, even without the games this weekend?

Re: SE District tournament seeds
As of now, looks like Athens, Chillicothe, Marietta & Warren (in alphabetical order). One of these teams will win the District.
