That's a bummer for Minford, though. It doesn't look like the forfeit itself is going to hurt them too much, it's just that they still have West and Valley left on the schedule.

valley wnt be nothin for them, west..... that's the question.

Oak Hill was suppose to be nothing for them as well

Valley stuck right with Coal Grove even though they were outgained by quite a bit.
Coal Grove probably should have beaten Minford, but either way both games came down to the wire.
It's a little rash to say that Minford will easily handle Valley. A West win tomorrow will do two things:

a) Minford's playoff hopes will take a BIG hit.

b) It will make Valley's playoff odds go up.

If that happens, Valley will have a lot more to play for and Minford might have a let down against someone like Waverly or especially Valley.
Remember, the Indians gave Minford all they wanted last year and more. And this Indian team is head and shoulders better than last year's team.

Minford defeated Valley 10-7 last year....the game is usually always close with the 2 schools being so close together. If Valley gets by West next week, week 10 will be VERY interesting...

The story I got was that the ineligible Minford player only played the last minute of the game, having no effect on the outcome, but rules are rules and it cost the Falcons a win.

OHSAA has rules to go by.
Some get caught some don't do they.lol

Here are the new rankings, and you noticed in the cases of Minford and Coal Grove what a difference a conference with teams that win and a confernece with teams that don't can make

1Baltimore Liberty Union 11.5929
2 5-2 1048 Minford Minford 11.0000
3 6-1 1063 Woodsfield Monroe Central 10.9120
4 7-0 614 Fredericktown Fredericktown 10.6429
5 6-1 296 Caldwell Caldwell 10.2143
6 7-0 1186 Oak Hill Oak Hill 10.1786
7 6-1 458 Coal Grove Dawson-Bryant 10.0357
8 6-1 1084 Nelsonville Nelsonville-York 8.9214
9 5-2 1696 Wheelersburg Wheelersburg 8.6929
10 7-0 1300 West Lafayette Ridgewood 8.4786

Minford goes 1-1 this week and moves to number 2, the Grove wins this week and drops 4 spots, fuzz I know you have confidence but I am not sure we can make the playoffs if we win out.

CG needs help from Valley... 8) 8)
Wheelersburg will definitely be in the top 8 before long.

didn't hurt Minford much, according to Joe Eitel as of this morning the Falcons are back up to #2 in the region.

Big win from Minford last night. They could definitely make some noise in the playoffs. I was glad to see them win last night because they deserve to be in the playoffs and they deserve a 1st round home game.

^^^It's just a shame some of the Minford fans have to act like this. . . especially considering the fact that they dropped Coal Grove from the schedule because they don't want to lose next year.

No, no. . . have you seen how many more points CG has compared to the teams beneath them? Wheelersburg should make it in. If NY loses to Athens, they're toast.
Ridgeweed still has to play Malvern, who crushed them last year; that should be the final nail in their coffin. If Coal Grove wins out, they're in. It's that simple.
