Re: district seedings
Is 4-11-3 correct for Clay's record or a misprint?
That record totals to 18 games. I thought a season consisted of no more than 16 games.
Has there been a change?

check out this site. it shows belpre's results. i did notice that they lost at alexander 9-1 and at athens 5-0. those are a couple of teams we are somewhat familiar with. it looked like they scored an average of around 6 goals per game while giving up an average of 3. also looks like they have a number of goal scorers...one listed as scoring 43 goals.

The school website shows them at 4 - 9 - 3. They might have listed their game at the preview and superscrimmage on their list.

you rock
you happen to have the east and west sectionals handy?
also, do you know which sectionals go against which sie in the district finals?
seodab lists the sectionals playing it out, so the district semis would pits the 2 sids of each sectional against each other, but it doesn't say which sectionals pair up in the districts

Re: district seedings
thanks. when i was in school, they played sectionals at home and through the district finals at new boston stadium. that'd be nice if they still did that. it's a great venue for tournament soccer.

Same here, New Boston is a great place to play tourney, the field was always nice (though I could have done without the cinders from teh old track at the benches).
Out of curiosity, when did you graduate?

I believe the game is played at the school who is on the top of the bracket.
It doesn't matter who the higher seed is. Let's just say the 4 seed beats the 1 seed and the 2 beats the 3 seed in the sectional finals. The 2 seed would have to travel to the 4 seed home for the district semi's because the 4 is on the top of the bracket (that's what I was told anyway).

Re: district seedings
Truthfully, South Point and St. Joe got seeded exactly where I thought they would. SP and SJ are the only 2 teams in the draw who are not in the SOC. South Webster was an obvious #1 and Wheelersburg was an obvious #2. After that, all the SOC teams lined up to make sure either SP or SJ advances to play South Webster who I'm sure the other SOC teams wanted to avoid. Seedings are no longer about who is deserving, it's about coaches working together to get each other what they want. It happens every year in baseball and basketball. Obviously, soccer is no different.
Re: district seedings
The Division II District Semi-Finals and Final are at Lucasville Valley High School.
The Division II District winner meets the winner of Central District 1 at a site to be announced.
The Division III District winner of Chillicothe 1 and Chillicothe 2 meet the winner of Central District 1 and 2 winner at Warsaw Riverview High School.

That's not completely ture. From what I heard, St Joe didn't show up and could have been seeded #7. Had they been there to argure their record they probably would have gotten the #3 spot. That would have put them against #6 Clay. SP and NB would have played in the #4-#5 match up. South Point lobbied for the higher seed and put themselves in the SW bracket.
So sometimes even though it seems there was manipulation of the brackets, it is just how the fell in line.

Re: district seedings
Your first statement makes my point. I believe it to be no coincidence that St. Joe and South Point ended up in the same side of the draw as South Webster. In my opinion, that's manipulation of the seeds and just how things go. I understand that you don't see it that way but we'll just have to agree to disagree.
By the way, #5 St. Joe beat #3 New Boston at New Boston 5-2 tonight.

Re: district seedings
It's not that I disagree with you that the seeding is off, but I was in the room and I can tell you that if the St Joe Coach would have shown up, he would have been the #3 seed. South Point lobbied to put themselves in the bracket they ended up in. Clay was happy to be outvoted and stuck at #6, but they didn't think they were #6. So, I am not sure what manipulation you see, but I can assure you, it is all in your head.
My prediction for the the first round #6 Clay will beat #3 New Boston and #5 St Joe will Beat #4 South Point.

Re: district seedings
As Flyersoccer posted above, St. Joseph has no complaints with the outcome of the seeding meeting, and the no-show was simply due to having the time confused with the next meeting on the 25th. Looking forward to good soccer from all teams in the tourney.
