Normally I would pull for Nelsonville-York in this back yard fight, but since the bullpuppies are so close to making the DII
playoffs, I will be pulling for the bullpuppies only because In Logan the Chiefs want the bullpuppies just to put them back into there place! Before they cut and run from the SEOAL!

It has poured all through the night and has slowly turned to mist as of around 11ish...
With more rain forecast, I will say predict Mother Nature to do some damage to R. Basil R. Field...

NY has it, and Athens wants it...(Doc Kroner Trophy)
Athens has it, and NY wants it...(1st Place TVC-Ohio)
Both Schools need it...(Play-Offs)

The kids are too soft to get dirty. That will show itself on friday on the Rutter field....

Athens jumps out to a large lead,28-0 but have to hold on to win,42-35.

The Athens News had a story about the game in today's paper from Gridiron Glory's host Garrett Downing.

Nice article. The article didn't go back for enough in NY's dominance in this series. Over the last 18 years, NY is 16-2 against Athens.

As much as I will be cheering for NY, I think Athens will win this game. They have a really solid team this year that we may or may not see in the playoffs.

In a way, I think it would be better for Athens to not make the playoffs at 10-0. If Athens does qualify and has to play Logan or Louisville in the first round and is dominated in that game, we will NEVER hear the end of it on sites like SEOPS and JJHuddle that Athens can't hang with schools their own size.

I'd like to see Athens play Logan, and may the best team win. Let them chirp if they blow them out. It's easy to ignore, and I bet the A-town kids would rather get there and get punched in the mouth, than sit home and wonder. :)

I hope NY can pull it off, but I don't see too many avenues for a Buckeye victory on friday night. I hope I'm wrong.

Go Bucks!

And the other thing my friends from Nelsonville, I tuned into the Logan station last Friday only to hear the guys badmouthing Athens on the air, same nonsense, when really, most of their existance they played in a league where they were in many cases 2 x's as big as some of the other schools. Live and let live I say, but several of the Chiefs fans just wont let that happen.
They must really miss us. :122245

Forcast calls for 50% chance of rain for the day and 30% in the evening. Its going to be another wet one, athens has a better feild but i think it will turn muddy :? goodluck to both teams i hope for a injury free game on both sidesGOODLUCK BUCKEYES someone tells me they never touched the turf this week ok so im taking ny over athens in a close one 14-13, we block a extra point late in the game... i love friday nights ;-)

theres definitely no shame in losing to one of the best teams in the state, and since athens is about 10 kids above DII and Logan is probably more than twice the size of athens, its not like they would be losing to a school their own size

Logan while being larger than Athens is no where near twice our size. To put it in perspective if you add the kids from Trimble to Athens we would then be bigger than Logan by 22 and still a D2. Here's a good one for ya, N-Y + Trimble + Fed = still smaller than Logan by 42 kids. Now enough off subject talk let's get back to the game posts.

I went past ol' R Basil Rutter this evening on the way home and she doesn't look to be in bad shape. As long as the updated forcast is correct and the rain moves out early tomorrow as it did today, the field conditions should be adequite.

Not sure if anyone noticed but the week 7 leaderboard was posted on trivalleyconference.com ... I know some T.V guys and a couple of radio fellas that use at as tool for their broadcast so its up and hopefully 100% correct .... Were getting into some bigger numbers and some newspapers are not the same as some coaches stats so when it comes to the LEADERBOARD - give or take a few carries, some yards and a catch or two ...

It’s game day BUCKEYE’S get ready to play some football.

BUCKEYE FOOTBALL.

And for all those Alex fans on here posting go ATHENS I would think that you would be posting GO BUCKEYE’S since that would give you a chance at sharing the title.

Just my thoughts.
