Bullpups, that's a good one. Athens probably goes 3-7 if still in your league.

I'm proud to be a Warrior.

Logan's got a great, senior-laden, experienced, well-coached team...Angle throws one heck of a ball!

But Big Blue never gave up, never quit hacking away on O or D...no blowouts here.
Warren as a program...the last time Logan came to Vincent, in 2006, Warren lost 60-7. Logan scored half as many points tonight and Warren scored double. It's solid progress.

Best of luck to the Chieftains the rest of the way.

Warren played one heck of a game...i think it was a lot closer than most people anticipated...Angle is a great quarterback...he threw the ball as accurate as any high school qb i have ever seen...he could have had about 400 yards if it weren't for penalties and some dropped balls...for player of the game i would have to give it to #26 for warren he was all over the field and made some great hits and tackles...although #1 for warren would give him some competition for player of the game..he also was all over the place and made some great plays...he showed some great speed on the catch and run... everyone was talking about logans high powered offense but i think their defense showed up a lot more than the offense tonight...i think warren had one first down in the first half and that was on a bad snap on a punt play that turned into a run and fumble recovery for the first...best of luck to logan..represent the seoal in the playoffs...warriors don't hang your head still two more to go...

BTW, Logan will miss Angle when he leaves, so you might consider on flunking him next semester so you can have him next year. lol.

Yes, Logan's backup is one heck of a passer, too. We were watching him, in the Warren stands, during pregame warmups, and his spirals were as tight as Angle's.

Someone told me something like 19 or 20 of Logan's starters were seniors. They will be alright without Angle, but they might miss some of the other 18 or 19 lol

Warren played a great game tonight, their program has taken a huge step forward. Hats off to Justin Rohr. He played a HECK of a ball game.

Logan opened the offense up in the 3rd quarter to put the game out of reach. The pump fakes and double moves finally let the receivers get open downfield.

Logan hasn't played "sharp" offensively for several weeks, and it's a bit concerning. But part of it I think is the search for "balance" - I think Logan had more called runs tonight than they've had almost all season.

Hope Ralph Robinson's injury isn't serious, I know we had no idea in the press box.

Also, hope Kaleb Wolfe isn't hurt too badly. He's had a heckuva career down at Warren.

Warren did a good job preparing for Logan. I thought the defense they installed for Logan worked very well. Warren did a great job against the run, and managed to get a little pressure on Angle from time-to-time. The plays that hurt Warren were play action pass plays that gave Logan receivers a step on defenders who were then unable to catch-up. You don't want to let Logan receivers get behind you, but that's what happened in these instances. Otherwise, Warren played great D. It was certainly a coming out party for Justin Rohr who was simply excellent at DE. Jeremy Hastie darn near had a pick, but just couldn't hold on. Jeremy Fivecoait also had a nice defensive effort. The latter two along with Lane & Henthorn are all sophomores. Warren's program is going to continue to improve . . .

On offense Logan pretty much stuffed Warren in the first half. Warren had a tough time running the ball and there was lots of pressure on the passing game. Going into last night's game Logan's pass defense had only allowed 322 passing yards in 7 games. Other teams had only completed 27 passes and Logan had picked-off 15 passes. That's crazy. In the second half Warren's line picked it up and Warren passed more effectively. The TD by Venham showed just how much speed he has. No one from Logan was going to catch him. Good things happen when Ellenwood runs the ball. I would love to see that more (yes, I tell him all the time).

In the end, Logan made more plays and pulled away. But, it was nice to see the Logan starters on the field with a few minutes left to go in the 4th quarter. I'm not big on moral victories, but Warren has come a long, long way. This team is still improving and has a real chance to win the next two games. I hope we'll see a few more folks in the stands for these games. I was a little disappointed at the attendance last night. There were way too many empty seats on the home side.

SOME Logan folks have a tendency to get under everyone's skin with their "matter-of-comments." Before this game it was the standard . . . "Tut, tut silly Warren people, Logan is just too good and this is going to be ugly." Well, here's a "matter-of-fact" comment from a Warren fan . . . "Logan is going to have to play better than they did last night to make it deep into the playoffs." Logan did NOT dominate Warren. Logan has more speed and, depending on the personnel, was bigger along the line, but it just didn't seem to me like I was watching a D2 state championship caliber team last night. I'll give Logan the benefit of a doubt and acknowledge that they could have been overlooking Warren a bit . . . But, it seems to me that a team as good as everyone says Logan is should have smacked Warren around more than they did. Or, maybe Warren is just getting better?!

Having said that, I hope Logan starts clicking and rolls into the playoffs with a head of steam. IF they start clicking they could be handful for anyone. It will be interesting to see what Logan can do now. For Warren this was a yardstick game, and it is pretty clear that Warriors showed marked improvement. This is the progress that the program has to make, and looks like it can continue to make, for the foreseeable future.

Good luck to the Chiefs.

The Warriors need to practice HARD this week!
