after watching last night, the other OVC teams are so down, CG will come out easy all the way! I just don't see OVC competition.

How many penalties did CG get when they got stuffed 2 straight times on the 3 yard line. Class...pure class. You won....learn how to win like champions and more people will respect you. If you could have scored 50 you would have, Oak Hill nearly did as well as Burg...you didn't. The game situation made the score look worse than it was... and since when was holding and tackling DE not a penalty? Your team did it all night and was called for twice. As far as personal fouls, both teams got them to keep the other team's drives alive. I really hate when a team wins and their fans get on here saying " It could have been worse...etc". Congrats on the win.

Heres the box score from the game

CG RH

First downs 21 11

Rushes-yards 59-440 31-54

Passing yards 47 158

Total yards 487 212

Cmp-Att-Int 6-10-1 14-32-2

Fumbles-lost 2-0 2-1

Penalties-yards 10-95 2-20

Punts-average 1-40.0 2-35.5

Now I will be the first to admit that we did deserve some of those flags, but the majority were bogus from the moment the official grabbed for his flag.

And again not to start anything up but the coal grove fans are hypocrites. You guys are going on and on about the refs but When another teams fans does it and in particular south point fans since I am one you call us cry babies and crap like that. So the tables are reversed and you all do the same thing. So think before you say something in the future about a situation cause more than likely when it happend to your team you will have the same response.

What Coal Grove fans called the South Point fans hypocrites, there is the a difference in a few bad calls and what these officials tried to do Friday night, they were actually trying to steal a game away from the better team on the field.

Now I know your talking about your own fans cause they are the only ones whineing about how the refs tried to cheat them of the victory. I simply just made a statement so i agree with you groveyard08 they should move on to another thread.

Buckfan,

the penalty differential is just part of the reason I was fed up.
The refs did a very poor job of managing the game and almost let a riot break out on the field. It got so bad that Coal Grove called a time out to let everyone cool down.
At least 2 people from Rock Hill and 1 from CG should have been ejected.
You don't let that kind of crap continue. First time's a warning. Second time, hit the showers - you're done.

i mean it would be different if we lost and wanted to blame it on the refs but instead won by a good margin...i think its ok to gripe ab horrible refs if we want..im glad this game showed that rock hill is desperate for wins and will try to do watever it takes....put a fork in these hillians their done cotton!

I have all the respect in the world for Coach Knipp. From what I've seen, it just looks like he doesn't have a lot to work with. The line play was especially terrible; 1.7 yards per carry and McCollister got knocked around all night.
Another multiple-score win for CG and another great job by the defense. The secondary is still suspect, though. If Rock Hill had a running game that demanded respect, Coal Grove may have been in trouble. But then again, if they had a solid rushing attack, they probably wouldn't be 1-7. :(

The officiating wasn't that great on both sides if you ask me, I think CG needs to stop complaining about the officiating because i saw more penaltys on them than were called, from holding on the ends, blocking in the back on woods TD runs, false starts that were called offsides. Coal grove should have won it more handedly than they did, but they'd better clean things up or they're not going far in the playoffs.
The penalty discrepancy is explained quite simply as CG committed more penaltys.

Not to mention, the coming down the RH sideline to start the game was classless. It'll come back to haunt some day.
